  4. It says more about political discourse. Where you now have literally uncivilized bullies jeering and sneering rather than consider issues or arguments. This street interview "study methodology" is rightly distrusted as a way to mine sound bites. All for the click bait, polarization and train wreck clown shows.

  5.  @AndrewBrown-xr8pn  From the shot with the weight falling through, it's clear that the middle tissue is not fully supported either, but that is a reasonable comment on the experiment. I also don't care for the brand name advertising. However, do you people really not know of toilet paper? It keeps surprising me to learn all you're missing out on... As Wikipedia states: "Most modern toilet paper in the developed world is designed to decompose in septic tanks, whereas some other bathroom and facial tissues are not."

The point is that "intelligent design" is not a theory to be weighed on evidence and probability, possibly to be refuted; they'll just take your point and say it's there "to test your faith", "his plan is inscrutable" or whatever (frequently just outright deny it). What truly baffles me is that these deniers literally argue against observing the fascinating wonder and complexity of the world we live in; placing limits on what their supposed creator may have done based on some preacher, book, or personal preconception. And to do so they'll gladly build nonsensical caricatures of what they think their supposed opponents believe, including completely ignoring what words mean (typical triggers: theory, gravity, evolution). They're not in the conversation to communicate, but indoctrinate. Remarkably, the entrance point to such indoctrination relies on doubt; they train their victims to reject notions, never to test them. XKCD 258.

  7. I'm afraid you've fallen victim to some propaganda. Evolution isn't about things being *spontaneously* created; it explains the process by which more suitable (for a given environment) species will be those that *remain*. In a friendly enough environment the less suitable ones may do just as well, and the process seemingly halts. For instance, lactose intolerance is widely spread, but there are enough other things to eat that people suffering from that do not die out.

  9. Try reading up on what evolution is. We haven't stopped evolving; we're just not under enough pressure to motivate specific or drastic changes. Also, the neat thing about your admonition to "look thew[sic] creation" is that it doesn't do jack to explain either thing you mention - at most provides an excuse for not even trying to establish any explanation. About those bacteria; specifically since the environment is not suitable for most organiisms, the right ones thrive.
