  3. There are absolutely advertisers running away from this platform. It's likely the adpocalypse with demonetization of videos "not suitable for advertisers" was a knee jerk reaction to early warnings. When that didn't improve things, Youtube doubled down and decided to cater to the remaining advertisers - where the largest group seems to be scammers, and less worried about ethics. What we're seeing is optimization for poor metrics, over and over again. They spend effort on claiming my mom isn't my family, but aggressively hide away options to report ads that are literal fraud.
