That's the case for cars in general. This thing has a smaller niche.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover series (most recently released 2022) still has audio jack, replaceable battery, expandable storage and water resistance. I don't know why people go for downgraded glass-backed models (slippery, heavier, more fragile).

@taLLdavid33 That's just because "smart" is marketing speak for "other stuff required". You can install apps, and they use that as an excuse to embed worse options.

@alexturnbackthearmy1907 Yes, survivorship bias. You describe particular ICE cars holding value exceptionally well. How large a portion of ICE cars overall are those? How many EVs should you expect made the same mark, given the same ratio? This is similar to thinking old music was all great - because we've forgotten most of what wasn't.

This is some anti-competition bullshit, obviously. If they don't want to see their car sold again as it fails to meet the owner's needs, they should simply buy it back.

@alexturnbackthearmy1907 That comparison sounds fraught from both survivorship bias and the law of small numbers.

@alexturnbackthearmy1907 That's not an answer to any of those questions, merely an assertion that EVs cannot last. You went from trying to motivate your opinion with poor statistics to not trying to motivate it at all, but making the broadest claim possible of the future. I don't know to what degree the F150 you mentioned as an exceptional case contradicts your other claims, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't had the opportunity to last for decades yet.
