  1. Call a spade a spade. The reason electric vehicles are harder to repair is manufacturer sabotage. And that should absolutely be illegal. And that dongle is precisely the same thing; you might see it as analog to the key, but the lock is there to keep you out, not whoever steals the software. They get it cracked.
