  1. I disagree with one statement: "The intention is to prevent piracy." The intention is to make the publisher pay the DRM peddler. As the DRM itself is purely antifunctionality, and pirates are unaffected, only legitimate customers harmed, "prevent piracy" is at best a shoddy excuse.

  2.  @Cheepchipsable  You're forgetting in your analogy the part where the bus driver randomly goes back in the bus to demand to see your ticket, but only if you bought one. Ensuring the bus arrives slower no matter how many rode for free, including zero, and never hassling them the same way.
