  1.  Trebuchet  Conveniently, he may be both! It's so much easier to keep up appearances if you believe the crap you're spouting. It's more of a habit than something with practical effects on his life. Don't expect him to pick up any navigation skills.

  2. Remember, he's an incredible jerk, and flatearthers in his world are people that will both listen to and sponsor him. Anyone responding to his vitriol in a sane manner is automatically less nice in his egocentric view. (Also, egocentrism is the natural opposition of heliocentrism.)
