@alikazerani That's pretty funny.

@kiwihib The US held elections during the Civil War.

@purplestuff You are right, the statement is merely untrue. In fact there are four candidates on the ballot and voting is done in secret like ours used to be.

@andreyf3709 Which is why it is doubtful Putin ordered Navalny to be killed now. Add to that the Russians taking Avdeevka and what looks like a total collapse for the Ukrainians in that sector, and it is doubly unlikely that this was a specific murder. You could make the case that Navalny's treatment led to this death.

@jonknestrick5219 Navalny was at first a nationalist and Russian chauvinist who protested naming a street in Moscow after Kadirov senior. Then he was sort of a street fighter with a political spin. He came to prominence in the West with the 2010-11 protests against Putin's returning to power. Sure there were tens, maybe even a hundred thousand people in the streets of Moscow...but the city has 13 million people. He wasn't that big of a deal in Russia itself. He ran for mayor of Moscow, the most liberal city in Russia, in 2013 and only garnered 27 percent of the vote.

What leaders of major states don't kill people? Clinton killed, Obama killed an American born citizen in a drone strike IIRC correctly. Here's a cite from the Council on Foreign Relations, hardly a right wing rag. Just google Obama drone strike. "The 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians. As he reportedly told senior aides in 2011: "Turns out I'm really good at killing..." And do you people not really understand why Carlson was in the grocery store? We've been told sanctions were destroying the Russian economy, and even before this phase of the war that Russia was a run down 'gas station masquerading a country'...Tucker made both those claims untenable merely by going to the Moscow Metro and doing some food shopping.

@Devian_Time Tucker challenge Putin on Nordstream, on Gershkovitz, and even on why he invaded Ukraine (he asked three times, never really got a straight answer but the history of the relation of Russia to 'Borderland' ...what Ukraine does in fact mean...but Tucker tried. There were more occasions. Carlson just didn't challenge Putin on the pet issues the MSM likes to stress.
