As an American vet...not combat but plenty of 0 dark 30 stuff ... I'm not seeing how this is any different in kind than our military. Big bonuses for signing ..check. Other financial incentives (combat pay, flight pay, specialization pay, education and housing benefits) check. Military drawn from peripheral regions, working and middle class families and often ethnic minorities, check. Or military trying to downplay injuries to avoid paying full compensation, check. And frankly even the celebration of some pretty nasty stuff ... see Abu Ghraib, the 'Collateral Murder' video that got Assange in trouble etc (Roman and his audience are mostly not old enough to remember the height of the Iraq invastion).

@B4llsD33p69_OwO Americaphobia --> anti-Americanism or UnAmericanism (we had our own campaign to root out the latter in the 1950s, headed by future president Nixon). Chinaphobia -> Sinophobia, plenty of examples of the use of that word out there. Arabphobia and Israeliphobia usually transmogrify into Islamophobia and antiSemiticism respectively.

@shadowfan8217 It was before social media, but our soldiers in Iraq literally took and spread via email etc pictures of themselves humiliating (to put it gently) prisoners etc.

@anjaanka_01. And during the illegal Iraq invasion, I knew plenty of American women who were proud of their 'servicemember' husbands and kinda digging the lifestyle ...in general far above what a non-military working class American can afford.

@X_irtz But, as Stephan Kotkin (biographer of the Georgian guy and Soviet dictator Stalin) has pointed out, you in Eastern Europe had your own communists. As he didn't point out, many of you also had your own fascists that invaded the Soviet Union alongside the N*zis.
