  1. Lithuania and Latvia also have horrible demographics, and they can no longer use the excuse of 'Soviets' leaving. In fact joining the EU has been hugely problematic, demographics-wise, for many former Soviet block countries.

  3.  @maarten1115  The 2.9 million are officially registered or otherwise counted as refugees. Many people from the Ukraine simply moved to Russia where they have family and business ties, without seeking formal refugee status.
