@YT-gu6pz In fact the UN 'safe areas' were used by Bosnian Islamicist forces as staging grounds for raided into Serb villages. This was the direct instigator of the Srebrenica events.

@teobliss No, the Austrians created the 'identity' sometime after 1878. They really pumped up the local Turk elite and created a nationalism to counter Serb led pan-Slavism. But in spirit you are right. The 'Bosniaks' thought of themselves as Ottomans and/or Turks.

@LinusIslamTips Non Muslims couldn't possess weapons..either cold or firearms. They couldn't ride horses or donkeys. They couldn't repair their churches. They couldn't ring bells...and integral part of Christian worship. They were forced to give children for the devshirme. They were subjugated in every way possible.

@OnizukaAllMighty The alleged "Bosnian kingdom' had ceased to exist for four centuries when the Ottoman Eyelets covering what is now Bosnia-Herzegovina (and part of today's Serbia) were ceded to Austria-Hungary.
