@dherman0001 Pivo is beer in Russian and basically all slavic languages -- it literally means 'drink'. They probably were drinking fermented grain...barely, wheat ...drinks long before 0 AD. Vodka...distilled pivo...was originally made of grains. In fact, most still is. Stoli, Smirnoff, Titos...all grain based vodkas. I believe Chopin from Poland is potato alcohol. Monopolova, available at Trader Joes (in the USA) definitely is.
