It's hilarious how companies that are mostly just names and advertising thought they could make an impact by leaving Russia. I'm most impressed by the McDonald's substitute, because that kinda of business does require impressive logistic skills, which McD's has. Apparently it wasn't that hard to learn

@Igorlysikov Kinda like when Donetsk and Lugansk tried to get autonomy from Kiev and found themselves subject of a 'counter-terrorist operation'. BTW they first voted for, effectively, autonomy and closer ties to the RF in 1994.

@sergiybuydenko6129 It's Artyomsk now. But dont' worry, Bahkmut is a Turkish, not a 'Ukrainian' name...because Russia took the place from the Ottomans with zero 'Ukrainian' involvement.

@Moliere1000 There's a Shevchenko biopic from 1951...i.e during Stalin's reign. The director and title role was played by Sergey Bondarchuk, who would go on to direct the 196[8?] War and Peace. The film is in Russian, but there's a long speech in Ukrainian in the middle in which Shevchenko castigates the local elites (Polish and Russian) for oppressing the Ukrainian peasantry. Stalin is said to have enjoyed it and it won Bondarchuk the State Prize of the USSR. The Ukrainian claims of 'Russification' under the USSR and even under the empire are vastly exaggerated. But all nationalist movements have to have someone to hate, frankly.

$5.39 per dozen in California and a slightly down market grocery store. Cheapest I've bought them in the last few months was $1.98 per dozen but that was a special with a limit of 2 dozen per customer.
