  1. @Zereniti77 You lived for decades in peace and in neutrality with the Soviet Union as a neighbor. Yet after the fall of the Soviet Union, and especially after 2000, you increasingly aligned with NATO. For all intents and purposes you were already a member by 2011.

After all, Ronald Reagan had Gorbachev to the White House while the Soviet 'invasion'* of Afghanistan was still going on. *The Soviets were actually invited in by the internationally recognized government.

  3.  @Sadie-e4t  'Latvia' didn't exist before the mid-1800s. There was Courland etc, but no Latvia.
