  2. There were no 'Latvians' 400 or 200 or 150 years ago. Courlanders, Semigallians, Livonians* maybe. No 'Latvians'. *Now extinct, and not because of Soviets or Russians.

  3. I bet if you walk around old Riga you'll find quite a few buildings built by the Russians and in the outskirts quite a few living blocks built by the Soviets...not to mention the energy infrastructure.
