@sangwaraumo Actually they voted for a Russian friendly government last time they had a real vote but the ultra-nationalists couldn't handle that. And even Zelensky was supposed to be a 'peace' candidate.

@sangwaraumo No, part of the Ukraine wanted 'western style democracy' which isn't very democratic.

@claudiof.barbano5530 They had a policy of 'Ukrainization' which was and is essentially erasing the ethnic Russians that found themselves in the 'independent' Ukraine after 1991.

@claudiof.barbano5530 The entire eastern third of the 'internationally recognized' Ukraine has never been Ukrainian. Even the 'Ukrainian' spoken there is very far from standard 'Ukrainian' .
