  4. I'm not an immigrant. My parents weren't immigrants, my grandparents weren't immigrants. The best time in America, the mid 20th century, we had very restrictive immigration policies. And you know what? We had the Baby Boom (because people could afford houses because millions of immigrants didn't undercut wages and drive up demand). We had the moon shot. Apple and Microsoft were founded.

  5.  @playnicechannel  The immigration restriction in the mid 20th century helped create a massive middle class by keeping wages high and housing demand low. The sainted 'Ellis Island' era really sucked, with sweatshops, political machine corruption, and lousing housing.
