@king_of_lightning How about a film about French people moving to Quimper and not learning Breton? English people moving to Cardiff and not learning Welsh? Berliners moving to Munich and not learning Bayerische? Madrid people moving to Barcelona and not learning Catalan.

@Tgshgkgh Latvia has a population of 1.9 million. It's population actually reached its peak in the Soviet era. Leningrad alone had a population of 4 million in the Soviet era. If the Russians had wanted to really 'Russify' so called 'Latvia' it could have at any time during Imperial rule or Soviet rule simply by encouraging migration of the much more numerous Slavs to 'Latvia'...and 'Estonia' and 'Lithuania'.

@Anatoliis-q8s No, there is, and was, a conflict between a centralizing, Ukrainizing state and the local people who found themselves in part of 'internationally recognized Ukraine' (tm) that had never been part of any Ukrainian cultural area. The Ukrainian state failed to recognize their rights.
