  1. Asian/Asian American are actually overrepresented among mass shooters. They are about 5% of the US popualtion but have committed 9% of the mass shootings (by FBI criteria of 3 or more killed) in the last 4 decades. In fact up until the Las Vegas shooting, an Asian held the record for the most killed in one of these events (the VA Tech shooting, 28 victims IIRC)

  6. The 'iconic' fan palms. High maintenance, provide little shade. Drop their fronds at random times. Not native to California (except a small patch in Anza Borrego state park). High fire risk. Don't install them, think about removing the ones you have.
