@Oddball_E8 Latvia and Lithuania have both lost population...rapidly...since joining the EU. And no it isn't from ethnic Russians leaving. The EU, objectively, has been a mixed bag for much of the former Soviet bloq.

@jimmiekarlsson4458 Three hundred years isn't 30. The people of Donbas voted for autonomy, in accord with the existing Ukrainian constitution, way back in 1994, a mere three years after the fall of the Soviet Union. Donbas and Novorosiya (the nothern Black Sea coast) were never 'Ukrainian' in any sense.

@jojor9766 Objectively false. The uprising was organic (unlike the Majdan, which was sponsored and paid for by the West). It is true that some ethnic Russians helped organize it after it started, and then after Kiev attacked more volunteered to help defend DNR and LNR. But it started with the locals who had been voted against centralization and 'Ukrainization' since 1994.
