Man, I thought Turchinov was a moderate. Usually an interim government is supposed to try to cool things down, compromise, etc.

95% of Kiev is fine. Especially the city center.

"India" literally didn't exist when the British got there. And no, relations between Hindus and Muslims (or between Hindus and Hindus or Muslims and Muslims) weren't rainbows and roses.

At the end of the day no one forced the Chinese to smoke the stuff. There was a demand, only the imperial Chinese government stood between the supplier and the consumer.

I remember when I left a quart tub of Greek yogurt in my cat last augusty

Or gives credence to the Russian narrative of right wing ('Nazis') running rampant in Ukraine.

@josezapata9674 Did the Azteca or Meshika or whatever we are supposed to call them today preserve the artifacts of the peoples they conquered...and ate?

Why not?

@TheDudeMaaaan No I really didn't follow the situation back then. The more I find out the more I at least understand Russia's actions.

Because that pro-Russian government was legitimately elected.

Obviously walls work as a great tool in an integrated approach to stopping illegal immigration.

@ndreysa Both 2004 and 2013-14 were violent conflicts, particularly the latter.

@ndreysa Checheniya was and is part of the Russian Federation. If you think the Ukraine has the right to take back Donbas or Crimea then that applies to the so called Chechen wars. Transdniester was a local uprising against a Moldovan only language police in a region which is ethnically mixed and Russian speaking. A settlement was reached mostly peacefully in the early 90s and it has been fine...even profitable for both sides ever since. Mostly the same situation in Ossettia and Abkhazia only there it's local ethnic groups who had autonomy before the Soviet breakup. Only when NGO financed ultra nationalists like Sakaasvili and Sandu want to upset longstanding peaceful situations do problems happen. We see just now in Nagorno Karabakh what happens to an ethnic group when Russia's hands are tied and zealous nationalist governments get their way.

@stimihendrix3404 Well no in each case that was the Soviet Union. The Khmer Rouge were more Maoist anyway and a direct result of the US destabilizing and bombing Cambodia.
