@CoreyLennox He had been rude and combative for 35 minutes preceding this, interrupting Trump, contradicting him over relatively trivial matters, and when Trump was talking he was making all sorts of faces, rolling his eyes, sighing in 'exasperation'. Vance wasn't even talking about him when he was extolling the need for diplomacy, but of the Biden administrations hawkish tone which has gotten the Ukraine exactly nowhere.

@davidmajor1508 No, it was actually part of one of Zelenski's many 'peace plans', presented about a year ago. Now, he may have gotten the idea from Sen. Graham, but he was the first one to put the outlines of such a deal in writing.

@xeno9423 Poroshenko, Hollande and Merkel have all admitted that the Minsk agreements were stalling measures to allow the Ukraine to build up its military forces. That implies they were not good faith efforts to find a peaceful solution to the very real, very organic situation Donetsk and Lugansk.

@Tom_Corvus5 There are very few Russians who are fighting for the Ukraine. There are whole units of Ukrainians (or at least people from the Ukraine) fighting for the Russians. The famous Somali (Donetsk) battalion play a big part in taking Mariupol.

@JFDA5458 If the majority of the population there, say Mexican-Americans, wanted to join Mexico...or merely to be autonomous to have their children taught in Spanish, and Mexico supported that desire, would it be wrong? The situation is a bit different as the vast majority of Mexican-Americans descend from people who came to the US Southwest long after we invaded and took the area from Mexico, whereas the Russian identifying people in Donbas were there before Ukrainian nationalism really got going.
