I was once nurse for a schizophrenic guy who had just killed a neighbor because of his paranoid delusions. The murderer was scared out of his mind and never did "clear" with medication. He was put away in the same facility as Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer and has never been granted parole because he is NOT SAFE TO BE LOOSE IN SOCIETY. Not everything is about punishing a murderer; sometimes it is about making the world safer for innocent bystanders.
