@tyronekim3506 Haidt claims to have started on the left, then moved toward the center as he studied political morality. It caused me pain to hear him say that "authoritarians" become more "racist" and "homophobic" when stressed. I don't think he describes what happened in 2016 well. In fact, many realists who might have otherwise voted Democrat simply became more nationalistic. Reaction against unrestrained immigration is not racist at all. Not sure where he was going with homophobia, but the current exasperation with LGBT agenda isn't really homophobic, since we were fine with gay marriage rights and voted on it. It was the "T" part of the equation being crammed down our throats daily. Sometimes literally. Even Oreo cookies come printed with nonbinary homilies. There is nothing wrong with change, and there is nothing wrong with NOT wanting to see old customs discarded or turned on their ear.
