  2. I pulled ambulance duty at a lot of stock car races, and the drivers are so adrenalized that they pop out the window after smacking into the wall and don't feel a twinge. Until maybe 2 hours later, after all that adrenaline has worn off.

  5.  SlayerPayback  That is true. Sometimes she'd just randomly spin out. Other times, she'd nudge another driver's quarter panel, then get wrecked, herself. I've seen films of her hollering at another driver, accusing him of bumping her, and he yelled back that the other drivers were trying to stay the heck away from her erratic car.

  12. As I understand it, the heat, the g forces and even turning the steering wheel are tough. To the extent that women have as much endurance as men, that's good. But I think you need some decent guns to keep a race car steady, don't you? Women's upper bodies are our weakest link.

  16.  @drewfuller8660  I like the job Trump is doing, and I don't hate his demeanor (although I don't love it, either), and I have a theory about Trump. Trump is sort of a big dweeb. Awkward, like Richard Nixon . . . But much funnier, of course. Nixon really never could poke fun at himself.

If Mr. Kozi feels good about the minimal contact, good for him, because she is not likely to suddenly start treating him well. I'm 54 and my mother is 85, and dealing with her is always a tough job. I am a psych nurse, and it takes all my skills to keep a lid on her tantrums and manipulative games. Disengagement is THE key skill, too. Furthermore, she is too self-absorbed to care what I think, ever.
