Because 2½ years into the full-scale invasion his career has in no way ended, though whenever he found that it was the case that russia was doing well in some area of significance, he never failed to say it. He is in the news on national TV about Ukraine almost weekly, so with your statement you clearly hasn't listened very well, or not at all.
