  4. I learn Chinese from young up to about 17 years old as part of the school curriculum on top of the Math and sciences, English, literatures and History. And I could read Chinese Newsapaper fairly well by then. So that would be the time frame that you are looking at. It will be faster if you only need to solely study Chinese
