She stained China's record further, showing that laws in China doesn't matter
4
Because the Olympics has rules. One of which she must be a national of China. And China has no dual nationality. It was a dirty move between her and China.
3
@jlim003 Yes she definitely is in cahoots with China to represent China and kept her US citizenship. This is despite China MFA law that forbids dual nationality.
3
@jlim003 The example you gave, Seamus O Connor, both Ireland and US support dual nationality. Not so for China. The whole episode reflects badly on China
3
@jlim003 I got no problem with Seamus. Many athletes around the world do that legally. Many Chinese ping pong players are all over the world for example. But I take issue with China bending it's own rules to suit it's needs. It shows that it's laws is a joke.
3
@jlim003 I am not those ppl who are angry. I am only against China for applying it's rules differently.
3
@jlim003 Seamus's Ireland and USA, both support dual citizenship. China does not. China twisted its own laws to let her play for China and also let her keeps her US citizenship.
3
@The_Art_of_AI_888 China is so dirty. A simple sports event also want to cheat.
3
Because she is shady. Zhu Yi is honourable
2
Because it is dirty. China has no dual nationality. And Olympics said must be national. If she kept US citizenship, we knows China and her play dirty
2
Zhu Yi is the better person. Not Gu
2
Actually she does possess good speaking skills and could answer questions without actually answering. She is a dangerous person but will probably do good in the dirty political arena.
2
@jlim003 Under China's MFA, Article 3, The People's Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for any Chinese national.
2
@jmgrant1 Yes I do believe that they were extremely unhappy. Usually ping pong championship still falls into China hands. They must have really got a good kick out of winning against traitor Chinese players in foreign countries
2
@jamesmoy1214 Due to the atrocities committed by CCP on its people, I couldn't sleep. Thanks for being so considerate.
2
It is not just a sport. Chinese Government needs to do special deals to give her a Chinese nationality to compete. And yet allowed her to keep her US one. This incident reflected badly on China, who actually does not allow dual citizenship for anyone based on their written laws.
2
@jlim003 You sheep is you. For supporting a dirty government. Brainwashed.
2
Article 3 The People's Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for any Chinese national.
2
According to the Olympic Charter (Rule 40-41) Any competitor in the Olympic Games must be a national of the country of the NOC which is entering such competitor. A competitor who is a national of two or more countries at the same time may represent either one of them, as he may elect.
2
@eurasianbrother1710 Yes it is a stain on China sovereignty. Laws not adhered to
2
It is quite dirty how she got to take part while retaining her US citizenship. It shows how dirty the Chinese Government is to cater for VVIP
1
@SiDung-qg7rn It is dirty. China needs to break its own no dual nationality laws to let her play. It shows how the laws are applied differently on different people. You are dirty for saying that I slander. I support my statement with facts.
1
@SiDung-qg7rn I cannot comment on that as I didn't read about it. But in this case, it is clear China abused the power. Common China people would have been unhappy if they knew the double standards applied to them. Quite sad that Chinese netizens continue to defend the ways of the CCPs. I believe these netizens are part of the CCP propaganda vehicle
1
@SiDung-qg7rn No I didn't slander. Obviously you are brainwashed
1
No. She is shady. Zhu Yi chose the motherland
1
Political play was used to allow Gu to represent China while potentially allowing her to keep her US citizenship. Quite a stain on China's sovereignty
1
Here, you say this. In another channel, you replied to me, saying China can allow dual nationality as it deem fit. You are such an untrustworthy person just like Eileen Gu and the Chinese Government
1
And it was against laws of China. China bends it's own laws on dual nationality
1
@eurasianbrother1710 Global community cares. Cheating in Olympics is a big matter. As sports are governed by rules.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 She is in cahoots with China in a shady deal to break their no dual nationality laws to play the game. You are stupid not to know this.
1
@mykrt8541 Any other topics are irrelevant to the discussion here.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 I am not trying. People know. But I am helping those brainwashed commenters who put Gu on a pedestal a different viewpoint
1
@eurasianbrother1710 ok. Then the ultimate wrong is on China for its unequal application of it's dual nationality laws.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 it is just a simple sport event and yet China didn't show that it could play fairly internally.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 It reflects badly on their sovereignty
1
@mykrt8541 Need to let Gu aware of her bad behaviour at such a young age. She would become a scary untrustworthy politician in future.
1
Athletes all over the world switch countries to play for money. But the thing about Gu is that China doesn't allow dual nationality. And Olympics rule said that only nationals can play. Gu likely kept her US nationality in some shady arrangements with China. This is the difference.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 Yes it is a sad day for China and the Olympics
1
It is not bad mouthing. It is probably true that China twisted its no dual nationality law to let her play. Quite an underhanded move.
1
@eurasianbrother1710 But at the expense of the reputation of China.
