  3.  @jayzandstra1830  non-Russian lands were NOT russified, Volga Germans got deported for collaboration, Ukrainians never were deported, about Chechens I don't know the reasons. But your main mistake is that modern Western propaganda trying to link Ukraine-Russia war to Stalin, there was NO Russification, actually under Soviet regime everything was vice-versa, Soviet ideology was about multinationalism, Soviets wanted to genetically and racially mix all people of USSR. And this is NOT a Russification because Russian nation will be destroyed and genetically replaced in such scenario. Soviets wanted to genetically mix everyone, and they achieved this in Kazakhstan, but Russia was too massive and Soviets needed maybe another century to achieve this. Lenin was a Jewish, and Jewish were opressed in Europe and in Russia, and under Bolshevicks, Russians were considered as colonizers, so Soviet policy was actually OPPOSITE to Russification, it was de-Russification, Soviets promoted Ukrainian nationalism and language while all of Ukraine was Russian speaking back then. There was DE-Russification, and Soviets gave Russian lands with Russian population to Ukraine and Kazakhstan, Lenin gave Donbass to Ukraine in 1917, and in 1954 Soviets gave Russian Crimea to Ukraine together with Russian population, and in 2014 these people, livibg on their land, returned to its native harbor and they support it. Soviets gave Russian lands to another countries, which Russia now returned after Western backed coup that happened in Ukraine in 2014, while with Kazakhstan Russia built friendly and healthy relations because there was no Western-backed coup.
