From NATO. And also Russian troops are protecting Russian people and their right of self determination in the Donbass and Novorossya regions from Ukraine

Russia didn't supported separatists on your territory decades ago, actually, in 1993 Russian special forces helped Georgia to rescue Georgian President from Sukhumi airport ambush, and Abkhazia and South Ossetia declared independence from Georgia in 1989, even before Georgia leaved USSR

@Lefrancaishonhonho Chechnya declared independence from Russia in 1990, before the collapse of USSR, while Russia moved its troops in December 1994 for completely different reason. In fact Russia and Russian population in majority was ready to give independence to Chechnya and invasion in December 1994 happened for completely different reasons - there was a Muslim military junta regime in Chechnya which conducted ethnic cleanings of Russian people, Chechen warlords with their armed gangs simply forcefully expelled Russian civil population from the country, there were murders and looting of the Russians. And also President Yeltsin wanted a small victorious war before election

There is no Russian population in Alaska, while in the Donbass region 50% of population were Russians before the war and they wanted independence from Ukraine, in 2014 Donetsk People's Republic declared independence from Ukraine. This is the difference. There is no 50% of Russians in Alaska and no Alaskan Republic fighting USA for 8 years

Donetsk People's Republic declared independence from Ukraine in 2014, Russian forces are fighting on Russian land defending their people against Ukrainain opression

During Russian Pokrovsk offensive after capture of Avdiivka, one Russian motor rifle brigade showed up in most of settlements and cities captured by Russia - from Avdiivka to Ocheretyno, to Novogrodovka and Selydovo and Hirnik. This means that ONE Russian brigade for 7 months straight was capturing territories, settlements and cities without losing steam of offensive. This means that Russian casualities are low, and Russia is fighting with artillery shells and aviation bombs against Ukrainian mobilized cannon fodder. It is Ukrainian men who are fertilizer, Ukraine's mobilization rate is 50 thousand each month, Ukrainian police is catching men on the streets of the cities like animals.

No, because all of this is Western war time propaganda about "FSB punitive squads", "torture of civilians", especially in region where half of population are Russians and half of population supported break up of Donetsk People's Republic from Ukraine in 2014

You are talking nonesence - it was Ukraine who was fighting a war against Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics since 2014, not Russia, and also - there was an illegal coup and illegal change of power in Ukraine in 2014. So, if people from Western Ukraine wanted to be with West, while people from Eastern Ukraine wanted to be with Russia, why people from Western Ukraine who seized power in Kiev in 2014 didn't allowed people from Crimea and Donbass choose their path?

@brittadueandersen2519 you are talking nonesence - first of all, Ukraine voted for independence from Soviet Union, not Russia, Russia was just one of the 15 republics inside USSR equal to Ukraine and the same vote to leave USSR was in Russia. And secondly, majority of Ukrainian population voted AGAINST dissolution of USSR. But Russian national elites, together with Ukrainian and Belorussian national elites achieved independence of their countries from Soviet Union despite the democratic will of the people, while majority of Ukrainians, Russians and Belorussians voted against dissolution of their united power where they lived in friendship together. And also, this is completely different topic which is not relatable to modern war in Ukraine. There is no connection between collapse of USSR and current war
