@fernandomagalhaes6820 GDP per capita is a bad indicator, because prices in different countries are different, and nominal GDP is calculated in US dollars. I.e. if the US stops issuing dollars to the Russian Central Bank, there will be very few dollars in Russia and demand for them will increase, and at the same time the price of the dollar will rise and the value of the ruble will decrease. Thus, it turns out statistically that all countries unfriendly to the USA are supposedly poor and backward. Although, in fact, the exchange rate does not say anything about domestic production, being only an instrument of foreign trade. But isolation from the World leads to backwardness.
