  2.  @gregb6469 (sorry for my english) US and USSR didn't had any inlfuence in Indochina. USSR had only good relations with Vietcong because of millitary supplies to it. France withdrew from Indochina, but after making peace threaty with North Vietnam. according to the provisions of the peace treaty, France left Indochina, but did not give Vietnam all its territories after the war, and so South Vietnam was formed. Few years later North, supllied by USSR, invaded South, and US decided to participate in conflict to stop communist advance to south, to Indonesia
