@jm75937 If you think that Russia should not react in any way to NATO expansion and threats to its security, then try saying that to John Kennedy. When the USSR deployed nuclear missiles in Cuba, America howled to the whole world. The United States was gathering troops to Cuba, and American officials from the Foreign Ministry were hysterical and threatened Cuba with war. Since then, Cuba has been under absolutely unjustified sanctions. If the American leadership considered Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba a threat and was ready to respond militarily, then why is Russia also not entitled to respond militarily when 18 years of negotiations with NATO ended in failure?

Generally surprising - in 1991, Boris Yeltsin was able to overcome the Soviet hydra, Russia played a key role in the collapse of the USSR In the 90s, Russia was a democratic, peaceful, free state. But NATO did not collapse, but rather expanded to the borders of Russia

Russia is conducting a peacekeeping operation to protect Donbass from Ukrainian punishers who have been shelling it for 8 years. This is not an aggressive invasion. We didn't start this war, we are ending it. In addition to the fact that Ukraine fought against Russian separatists, Ukraine for the past 8 years has pursued an anti-Russian policy aimed at joining NATO, which poses a threat to Russia and undermines our geopolitical position. If you think that NATO expansion does not threaten Russia, then try to convince Kennedy that Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba were not a threat to the United States.

@HaveiorLP Russia made the decision to use force after 18 years of negotiations without result.

@jasperchance3382 NATO is defensive institution? So, why NATO countries invaded Serbia in 1999? Why Western countries were invading Lybia and Iraq?

@pacemart60 are you talking about Ukrainian punishers, who were shelling the Donbass for 8 years?

@pacemart60 You Americans can't put a country on a map. Your musings about something you don't understand at all are just insulting. Russia is now forcing Ukraine to peace. Russia is ending the war, which has been going on for the ninth year.
