  1. ​@Captain_Kattel this war started from American backed coup in Kiev in 2014, and this war is about competition of great powers over spheres of influence. And this war was NOT started by Russia, it is started from Western backed coup, undemocratic, enforced change of power in Kiev, while Russian populated regions of Crimea and south eastern Ukraine were in disagree with this coup and had their vision and demands to be with Russia. So West, America, Europe have helped pro-Western Ukrainians to conduct a coup, and Russia, as an ANSWER, played a reverse UNO card and Russia supported coups of pro-Russian population in Russian populated regions, later Ukraine started military operation and war broke out. Russia for 8 years was trying to solve the conflict diplomatically, to avoid a full scale war, but West was treating Russia as a joke and tricking Russia, so when diplomatic means ended, Putin tried a military solution of the problem.
