  2. Russia is not capable to fight a longterm war with entire NATO or Europe, Russia is at 4th year of war with Ukraine. Even considering the fact that Ukraine had best military in Europe already before the war, and Western aid boosted strength of Ukraine for ~1.5-2 times equalizing it with Russia, without Western backing, Russia could have defeated Ukraine in ~1 year, Ukrainians simply could have run out of ammo and artillery shells by that point. But with Western aid powers were equalized and Russia is on 4th year of war with just 10% of Ukraine captured since 2022. West actually deceived Ukraine with military aid, NOT giving Ukraine enough weapons to defeat Russia on purpose, because Ukrainian victory isn't profitable for West, West wants an endless war of attrition against Russia by using Ukraine as a tool. So for all this 3 years West was giving a very small, not enough amount of help to Ukraine ON PURPOSE, Ukraine was deceived and used as tool in war of attrition. But this help was enough to equalize power with Russia. At now Russia have a military that is numerically 5-6 times larger than at the start of the war (170 thousand Russian troops was initial number, now Russians have about 900 thousand at the frontline and Ukraine have an army of 1100 thousand soldiers), the whole Europe have nearly 600 thousand infantry servicemen, but Europe is not united and there are many small militaries which wouldn't help. Also, unlike Europe, Russia gained extreme EXPERIENCE of real full scale war of 21st century, Russian troops that are fighting in Ukraine have huge combat experience, they are using drones massively, unlike European militaries with no experience. But Europe have 10 times more economic power and 5 times more population, so in longterm Russia will obviously lose, especially considering that this war military build up costed Russian people already a high inflation and Russian society is tired of war. I doubt that Russia will go beyond Ukraine even if Ukraine will be captured fully. Also, unlike war in Ukraine, Russia simply don't have a reason to fight with Europe. War in Ukraine started originally after American backed coup in Ukraine in 2014. America and Europe supported a pro-Wetsern coup in Kiev, and Russia as the only post Soviet regional power responded with its own coups in Crimea and Donbass. So, this war is a result of the competition of global powers for the spheres of influence, America and Europe have supported a coup in Ukraine, a change of government, while Russia is ready to fight for its sphere of influence against Western hygemony. And war in Ukraine started in 2022 only after 8 years of diplomacy and negotiations. Putin didn't wanted this war, Putin was actually trying to avoid this war, Putin tried to solve everything with making a deal with West. This war happened only after 8 years of Russia trying to use diplomacy, and even when war broke out Putin was thinking that it will be a 2 week walkthrough with low casualities and low harm, and when the first blood appeared, Putin started peace talks with Ukraine already at the 5th day of war, and during Istambul peace talks Russia offered Ukraine a proposal of pre-war border. Putin is actually much more peaceful and diplomatic that you might think, and war started only after diplomatic failures and war was managed unprofessionally. So just chill bro, Russia isn't threating Europe, there is nothing that Russia needs from Europe, and no such rhetoric inside Russia, I am telling this to you as Russian, I am Russian citizen, there is NO any agressive rhetoric against Europe in Russia. In case with Ukraine, there was an 8 years old information war and 8 years of propaganda from both sides. So your whole point makes no sence, Russia doesn't need and doesn't want to invade Europe, we have NO interests in Europe, we want to only retake Ukraine from the Western sphere to our sphere of influence and nothing more. The only thing we want is to secure our sphere of influence against other global powers such as America, China or Europe. In 2014 America and Europe supported a coup in Ukraine, and now our military is retaking Ukraine back to Russian orbit. We have NO disputes with Baltic nations, we have NO disputes with Poland, we have NO disputes with Finland, Putin stated many times that we want peace, trade and good relations with European Union because you were our best gas buyers and car suppliers

  20. The reason for all the failures and defeats of the Russian army is the insufficient initial number of troops. On February 24, 2022, when the war began, Russia fielded only about 100 thousand soldiers against Ukraine. Plus several tens of thousands of soldiers from the DPR and LPR. There were about 150 thousand soldiers in Ukraine already on the first day of the war. That is, at the beginning of the war, the number of the two armies was comparable. And as you know, a numerical advantage of at least one and a half times is needed for a successful offensive. Ukraine began to mobilize already on the first day of the war. In the first two months of the war, the Russian army was still able to move somewhere, but over time the Russian offensive stalled, due to the fact that Ukraine had been mobilizing since the first day of the war, and the number of the Ukrainian army was growing every day. The Russian offensive is bogged down by superior Ukrainian numbers. In the first seven months, Russia fought against Ukraine with a relatively small contingent of contract soldiers, without conscripts and without mobilization. Thanks to the numerical superiority that the AFU accumulated during the 7 months of the war, the AFU was able to launch a successful offensive in September 2022. But the Ukrainian army won simply due to numerical superiority. In other words, it's not an equal fight. In equal conditions, the Russian army demonstrated a much higher combat capability in March 2022. As of mid-April 2022, the Russians have seized territory in Ukraine the size of England. Do not forget that the Ukrainian army is much stronger than the French, German or British army. Ukraine on February 24, 2022 had ~ 150 thousand soldiers and 1000 tanks, the AFU is the largest army in Europe. For comparison, Britain in 2021 had about 70 thousand soldiers and 200 tanks. Germany has 80,000 soldiers and 400 tanks, and France had 120,000 soldiers and 600 tanks in 2021. As of February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian army was the most numerous and mechanized in all of Europe, not counting the Russian army. It is quite easy to defeat the Russian army when Russia is fighting without mobilization, when Russia is fighting without conscripts, when Russia is fighting with a limited contingent of 100 thousand soldiers, and you already have a comparable army on the first day of the war, and you are mobilizing from the first day of the war, and the West also gives you unlimited resources to wage war. Unlimited amount of money, a huge amount of weapons. And in the end, despite all these weapons, despite all this help, despite the numerical superiority of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia still wins in the end - 60% of the Kherson region, half of the Zaporozhye region, 80% of the Luhansk region have been occupied by Russia since February 24, 2022 and Russia holds this territory against Western tanks and tens of billions of US dollars as military aid. West provided Ukraine by nearly 130 billion dollars in 15 months - few pre-war Ukrainian year state budgets.

  22.  @Pillar8908  Russia is breaking a 2014 defensive line in the Donbass, where Ukraine was building defensive lines and bunkers for 9 years straight from 2014, where there are bunkers that stand against 3000 kilogramm aviation bomb, and all these massive defenses and bunkers are located in the highly populated urban region, where one city smoothly goes to another with huge empty potato fields with no cover between them, while Ukrainians have heights and rivers as natural barrier at some parts. And also Russia have invaded Ukraine with much smaller army than Ukraine had, Russia is fighting without mobilization for nearly two years now, so in fact, on august 2024 defending Ukrainian side have numerical superiority over Russia, Ukraine have more soldiers than Russia in the frontline, and despite all this Russia is able to advance and Russia took the strongest Ukrainian fortress of the Donbass and strongest fortress in the World in fact - Avdeevka, that was main defensive chain of Ukraine. Russia have total superiority in artillery, Russia produces 3 times more artillery shells than entire NATO combined, while Ukraine already ran out of Soviet artillery shells back in the end of 2022, and NATO gives 50-60% of its artillery shell production, so there are 6 times superiority in artillery on the Russian side while half of NATO's European arsenals are empty. Artillery and aviation are two Gods of War. In all recent wars for 200 years artillery was the cause of 90% of casualities, while infantry combat is around 5% of casualities. 90% of all soldiers who have died in WW1 and WW2 died due to artillery shelling, not in actual combat and shooting of rifles. In the start of the war Russian army was technologically and tactically backward - there were no FPV drones in the Russian military and Ukraine had huge superiority by using FPV drones against Russian armored columns. But Russians learned from their mistakes and already during Ukrainian 2023 summer counteroffensive there was PARITY between Russia and Ukraine in drones, and at now Russia produces 3000-4000 FPV drones PER DAY. Also Russia have modernized its aviation to more accurate bombs with better precision, the same that USA did in late Vietnam war and what revolutionised American military, the accuracy of bombs grew up for DOZENS of times and during the Iraq war USA were very effectively using this tech. USSR and Russia were totally backward from USA in this technology untill 2024. Also, Russia have total superiority in electronic warfare, that is very effeftive against Ukrainian FPV drones and famous American sattelite navigation artillery shells of Hotwitzer-777, dropping accuracy of 777 satellite guided shells from 70% to 2% and making these shells economically useless. So, it is fair to say that Russia is fighting with QUALITY, while Ukraine is fighting with QUANTITY. Russia is fighting without mobilization, Russia is fighting with only volunteers, while in Ukraine there are already nearly one million men were forcefully mobilized, and at now Ukrainian morale is low, Ukrainian men are trying to avoid mobilization and Ukrainian police forcefully catches men on the streets like animanls. And mobilized Ukrainian men at now are being thrown into battle with less than week of training. While Russian morale is normal, because Russia have 4 times more population than Ukraine, and Russian casualities at now smaller than Ukrainian, so the nearly same casualities affect 4 times bigger population 4 times less. Also, Russia is fighting war without mobilization and Russian volunteers have at least 3 months of preparation. Russia is very slowly advancing, having less soldiers than defending Ukrainian side, but Russian soldiers have better training, better morale, superiority in artillery, FPV drones and aviation, while Ukraine have superiority of defending side (in EQUAL conditions attacking side is suffering 1.5 times more casualities), also Ukraine have landscape and urban superiority with defensive lines and bunkers. So, casuality ratio between Russia and Ukraine is nearly equal with small superiority on Russian side, and Russians having less soldiers are able to advance slowly and capture strongest fortification system on Earth in urban warfare and open spaces with no cover between them. In fact, Russia have less soldiers than Ukraine, but few timer more support firepower, while Ukraine is defending with more men and have numerical superiority and fortifications

  23. War is a very expensive and financially costly business. You need a lot of money to supply troops by ammo and equipment, you need a strong economy. Wars are won by economics and logistics, not arrows on the map. Ukraine is a poor corrupt post-Soviet country. Ukraine is the most corrupt country in Europe, if we don't count Russia as a European country. Corruption and poverty was everywhere in Ukraine even before the war started. And when the war actuallu started, Ukraine's economy simply collapsed as a result of migration and mobilization. The Ukrainian economy has suffered much more from the war, than the Russian economy suffered from sanctions. Without the financial assistance of the West, Ukraine would have been defeated a long time ago. For the last 15 months, West provided Ukraine with about 200 billion euros of financial assistance. These are six annual state budgets of Ukraine. Three annual budgets (72 months) of the country for 15 months of 2022-23. 25 Ukrainian military budgets. Before the war, in 2021, for example, Ukraine spent about 8 billion euros on the army, about 20% of the state budget. In last 15 months, Ukraine was allocated 200 billion euros of financial assistance. Without this help, Ukraine would not be able to wage war for economic reasons, and Russian tanks would have been in Odessa and Kyiv for a long time. If not for the financial assistance of the West, Ukraine would have capitulated in the summer of 2022. And Russia, in fact, is not fighting against Ukraine. Russia is fighting against the entire Western Bloc. As for arms supplies, they amount to about $50 billion. Russia spent so much money before the war on rearmament of the army in 5 years. Ukraine has exhausted its reserves of Soviet artillery ammunition and is now fighting with American artillery and American ammunition. Without these American guns, Ukraine would have no guns at all. At the same time, Ukraine fires several times less ammunition every day than Russia. And even so, Britain, the USA and Poland do not have enough production capacity to provide the AFU. Their production is lower than consumption. If it were not for the support of the West, Russia would have already captured the whole of Ukraine twice. In 2023 West increased the scale of military assistance to Ukraine. Without this help, Ukraine would have been defeated a long time ago, and one cannot say that allegedly "Russia cannot defeat one weak Ukraine." Because Russia is fighting not only against Ukraine, but against Ukraine with huge support from the West, and this support, from an economic point of view, many times exceeds the capabilities of the Russian economy. The reason for all the failures and defeats of the Russian army is the insufficient initial number of troops. On February 24, 2022, when the war began, Russia fielded only about 100 thousand soldiers against Ukraine. Plus several tens of thousands of soldiers from the DPR and LPR. 30.

  32. Russia have upper hand as a result of Russian strategy - war of attrition, that was choosen by Russian comand in late 2022. Russian production of artillery shells is 3 times larger than of entire NATO alliance, and North Korean help is small part of what Russia produces by itself. Russia may have even bigger superiority over Ukraine, if Russia had mobilization. But currently Russia is fighting without mobilization, by using only volunteers. Ukraine was mobilizing since the start of the war, and after 2.5 years or war Ukraine simply ran out of manpower, Ukrainian police is catching Ukrainian men on streets like animanls. And Zelensky made a very silly and mistaken move by invading Kursk region of Russia while Ukrainian army have manpower shortages. So, Ukrainian defensive capabilities in the Donbass region have decreased, while for Ukraine Donbass is most important area, because this is highly populated urban area where one city is being right after another city, urban area is good for defense and hard to attack. Also, since 2014 to 2022, for 8 years Ukraine was building a defensive lines, bunkers and fortifications in this area, and also Ukraine have superiority of landscape. Russia is fighting without mobilization, so Russia have less soldiers than Ukraine, while Ukraine is defending on good landscape with best on the Planet defensive line and support from the West. But if you look on the map, you can see that it is Russia who is advancing, not Ukraine. So, despite the fact that Ukraine have more soldiers than Russia and all other advantages, it seems like Russia have some bigger and more sufficient advantage over Ukraine in something else - artillery, the God of War. Also Russia organised massive production of FPV drones since 2023, and at now there are a parity in usage of drones on both sides. So, if in the start of the war it was Russia who was backward in this technology, at now it is Ukraine who is backward and Russian drone production is increasing. Also Russia modernized its aviation equipping it with 3000 kilogramms bombs and navigation systems for more precise heats. Thus, we can clearly see, that it is Ukraine who is fighting with quantity, while Russia is fighting with quality and casuality ratio is nearly equal if we combine all advantages of both sides. With regards to Western help to Ukraine, after 2.5 years of war it is clear that United States don't want Ukraine to win. Russia is strategic enemy of USA, and USA want the war of attrition against Russia to last for as long as possible to cause damage to Russia. So, this is why USA have a GOAL to NOT give to Ukraine sufficient amount of military help. Ukraine was tricked by its Western partners, Western powers have a conspiracy deal to give to Ukraine insuffifient amount of help in order to war against Russia to be endless

  55.  @MegaEssin  you know very little about what happened in Ukraine. Ukraine as a state is oligarchy, which means that all political parties and media in Ukraine are oligarch paid, oligarch puppets. Just like Russia in the 90s, there were few oligarchs that controlled few political parties and few TV chanells. Ukraine never stood a chance of joining European Union, because of high corruption and poverty. European Union never wanted to allow this poor corrupted country to join. While Russia was a much better option for Ukraine. Russia and European Union were economically competing for influence over Ukraine. By 2013 statistics, 37% of Ukrainian population was pro-European, 32% was pro-Russian and others didn't cared. There were entire political parties and oligarchs in Ukraine that in terms of foreign policy were either pro-Western or pro-Russian. So, your whole point of view in invalid, because I believe that during a revolution all people have right of self determination, and pro-Russian part of Ukraine ALSO had right of self determination. Pro-Western Ukrainians have chosen their future in favour of Europe, then why they didn't allowed pro-Russian part to choose their future? I believe that Russian people from Crimea and Donbass regions had the SAME right to self determine themselves, as pro-Western Ukrainians in Kiev. And Ukraine didn't allowed them to do it, starting a war in the Donbass. In 2013 American business have bought 99% share of Ukrainian state owned Novatek corporation. This is corporation that controlls Russian gas pipeline that goes to Europe. And in 2013 Americans became owners of Russian gas pipeline in Ukraine. In 2008 and 2004 Russia simply blocked previous American attempt to buy it by forgiving multi billion debts to Ukraine for stealing or not paying for gas. When Russians blocked this deal for the first time in 2004, Americans lobbied a coup during presidential election, where pro-Russian candidate won, but as a result of paid by oligarchs massive protests there was a third election round which is illegal. In 2013 Americans finally achieved this deal. Also, in 2013 Shell corporation made a few contracts about Ukrainian gas. Ukrainian president Yanukovich wasn't pro-Russian, like most people think, he was in fact neutral and he was trying to balance between Russia and European Union. When there was a meeting between Ukraine and European Union, Russia started to threat Ukraine with high trade tariffs, so president was simply forced to not make a deal with European Union, because trade with Russia and investments from Russia were higher than from EU. Yanukovich wasn't pro-Russian, Russia just used its economic influence to force Ukrainian president to act in Russian favour. In fact Yanukovich angered Ukrainian oligarchs long before this deal with European Union, because he was re-distributing oligarch property and assets in his favour. Ukrainian oligarchs just used this failure in deal with Europe to pay money to poor Ukrainian students to come to protests, and later oligarch controlled media started to escalate the protests. Later American money, American media and even American politicians helped the protests - in december 2013 senator John McCain came to Kiev, he gave an inspiring speech in front of protestors. What American senator forgot in another country, thousands of kilometers from his homeland, giving an inspiring speech to protesters who want to overthrow the government and take power? Later, in january 2014 the head of American State Department, Victoria Nuland, came to Ukraine, she talked with Ukrainian politicians in charge of protests, also gave an inspiring speech to people, and gave famous cookies to protestors. And again a question rises - what American senator and head of state department were doing in Kiev during revolution? Just imagine a situation, that during a January 6th 2021 protests in USA, Russian foreign minister Lavrov comes to Washington, talks with Trump, gives a speech to protestors, gives them cookies, and later protestors storm Capitoli, Senate and White House and overthrow Biden. This is what happened in Ukraine. After 2025 Donald Trump closing the USAID funding and leaking the documents have proved, that America have spent 5 billion dollars on media, propaganda, parties and organizations inside Ukraine. It is still secret how much money Europe and Russia spent. Also, Ukrainian oligarchs paid money for 24/7 toilets, 24/7 food, Molotov coktails, weapons and even military helmets to protestors, and one of Ukraine's oligarchs, Poroshenko, who became a president 2 months later, proudly was saying that he paid for all this. Ukrainian oligarchs and some American money have paid for 24/7 food and toilets with heating during winter, weapons and military helmets for protestors in Kiev. Later the first blood appeared, when Ukrainian policemen, who were used to brutally supress Crimea's Tatar and Russian protests for indepdendence from Ukraine (1994-2013), brutally supressed and murdered now Ukrainians themselves in Kiev. Yes, that's right, Ukrainian policemen who murdered people in Kiev, this exact special police unit, Berkut, were the same Ukrainian policemen who were brutally supressing Russian and Tatar protests in Crimea that occured in Crimea in 1994-2013. Also Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, because in post Soviet countries naz%s are very healthy strong men who want a fight and they have this punk young preception, they want to fight police and government, and during this protests Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, so naz% squads were also fighting police and murdering policemen. Later protestors just started to kill policemen with Molotov coktails, captured state buildings and president flee from Ukraine to only country he can flee - Russia. After this Russian troops came to Crimea. Crimea is a region with MAJORITY of its citizens being Russians. It was originally Russian region with 60% of Russian and 15% of Ukrainian population, that was given to Ukraine by Soviets in 1954. Since 1991 Crimean population wanted indepdendence from Ukraine, Muslim Tatars wanted complete independence while Russians wanted to join Russia. And majority of Crimeans were in disagree with coup in Kiev.

  66. In Crimea in 2013, prior to annexation, according to statistics from the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Russians made up 60% of the population, while Ukrainians made up just 16% of Crimea's population in 2013. In other words, Crimea is Russian territory, where the vast majority of the population is Russian. Even before Crimea was annexed to Russia, in 2013, in Crimea, Russians made up 60% of the population, while Ukrainians made up only 16% of the population. Crimea itself was originally part of Russia. Crimea was originally part of the Russian Soviet Republic. But in 1954, the Soviet government, by its short-sighted decision, handed over Russian territory, where the overwhelming majority of the population is Russian. In 1991 the USSR collapsed. Russia liberated itself and other countries from the USSR. For 23 years, since 1991, Russia was absolutely satisfied with the fact that Crimea was part of Ukraine, while Ukraine was a friendly country. But in 2014, a coup took place in Ukraine. Under such conditions, Russia was forced to conduct a rescue evacuation operation and evacuate Russian territory with 60% of the Russian population to Russia. The local population is happy to reunite with Russia. I know this because I myself communicated with the Crimeans live and in social networks. 60% of the population of Crimea before the annexation were Russians, and these Russians were happy to return to their native harbor, to return to Russia. The Ukrainian army gave Crimea away without a fight, which again proves that it is not Ukrainian. After the return of Crimea to Russia, an uprising began in the Donbass. In the south-east of Ukraine, Russians make up 50% of the population. And these Russian people raised an armed uprising, they wanted to secede from Ukraine. The war has begun. Ukrainian punishers and terrorists have deprived the Crimea of water supply. Ukrainian punishers and terrorists carried out rocket and artillery strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Donbass. People in Donbas still do not have water, electricity and communications. Russia began to launch similar missile strikes against Ukraine only in October 2022, after 8 months of war. Ukrainian punishers did this already in 2014. Crimea was cut off from water supply already in 2014. In 2015, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that "we will have pensions, they (the separatists) will not, we will have a job, they don't, our children will go to school on September 1, their children will sit in basements, and that's how we (Ukraine) win." This is a direct quote. The Ukrainian president said in 2015 that Russian children in Donbas would be kept in basements, and this is how Ukraine would win. And the Ukrainian humorous studio "Kvartal 95", where Zelensky worked, satirized Poroshenko's words, joking that "Russian children in the Donbas no longer need to go to school, Ukrainian artillery fulfills children's dreams." In Donetsk, there is such an attraction - the "alley of angels". This is a list of children who have died under Ukrainian shelling since 2014. Ukraine almost achieved victory over the rebels in 2014, but Russian intervention halted the Ukrainian offensive and reversed the front in August 2014. Ukraine understood that Russia would protect the Russian rebels in the Donbass. Therefore, Ukraine set a course for joining NATO in order to attack the DPR and LPR with impunity. Let's imagine a picture before the 21.02.2022 - almost the whole world recognizes Crimea as Ukrainian, and in general the whole world, including Russia, recognizes Donbass as the territory of Ukraine. Then Ukraine joins NATO, and attacks Donbass, and possibly Crimea. And Russia cannot do anything about it, because if Russia starts helping the rebels, it will be regarded as an invasion of Ukraine and the NATO article about collective defense will work. And there would be a nuclear war between Russia and NATO. So the most realistic scenario was: Ukraine joins NATO and attacks the rebels with absolutely impunity. There are nationalist battalions in the Ukrainian army, such as Azov. These guys wear Nazi symbols, they have tattoos of Hitler, and they hate Russians as a nation. Now let's think about what would happen if Ukrainian troops attacked the DPR and LPR - Ukrainian soldiers massacre the entire pro-Russian local population. Well, in general, there are many videos that are filmed by Ukrainian soldiers themselves, where they say to the camera how they hate the "separatists" and pro-Russian population. If the Ukrainian army entered the territory of the rebels, there would be a genocide. If we had not attacked Ukraine, Ukraine would have simply joined NATO and attacked the Donbass. And we, Russians, have no right to leave our blood brothers in trouble. In 2014, the Russian people in southeastern Ukraine started an armed uprising because they wanted to break away from Ukraine and become part of Russia. Just like Crimea did. And since 2014 there has been a war. Russia defends the right of the Russian people in southeastern Ukraine to self-determination. Ukraine wanted to join NATO in order to attack Russian rebels with impunity. Russia had no choice but to attack first.

  70. @markmackan3274 Americans helped the protests and coup. Just like Russia later helped pro-Russian protestors in the Donbass. I am not saying like you that coup was foreign-artificial. No. It is IMPOSSIBLE to artificially immitate a coup. Coup in Kiev was a will of PART of Ukrainian people lead by pro-Western politicians lead by oligarchs, while pro-Russian population in the Donbass also had their opinion and will. If we will take a look into the war in the Donbass, the war in the Donbass started in april 2014. The first ever Russian troops came to Donbass in september 2014. So, 20 thousand of young men, local population from the Donbass, was fighting against Ukraine in a war in april, may, june, july, august - 5 months in total, before the first ever Russian soldier crossed the border to help them. What does it mean? It means that pro-Russian ideas were living among population and population in the Donbass supported Russia. Russia, using its money, media, FSB operatives just helped them to make a coup, just like America helped pro-Western Ukrainians in Kiev to make their coup. Donetsk and Luhansk didn't had to follow Ukrainian constitution because government from Kiev itself came to power illegally. What are you saying is hypocrisy and double standards, government in Kiev came to power as a result of illegal coup supported by foreign powers, and you are saying that pro-Russian part of Ukraine should have respected Ukrainian law and constitution. No, they don't needed to follow Ukrainian laws after government from Kiev itself didn't followed Ukrainians laws. America and Europe supported coup in Kiev which was against Ukrainian law and constitution, and Russia supported coups in Crimea and Donbass that also were against Ukrainian law and constitution, because people from Crimea and Donbass supported Russia.

  72. Putin is trying to say that Russia had invaded Ukraine, because Ukraine wanted to join NATO, and NATO is threating Russia. NATO isn't threating Russia - both sides have nukes. If the war between Russia and NATO would start, this would be the shortest war in history, and both NATO and Russia's armies wouldn't have any opportunities to use their positions, such as a cotrolled by someone Ukraine... Russia don't need expansion, and Russia isn't targeting the expansion, because if Russia wanted the expansion - in 2008 Russians had an opportunity to conquer Georgia, but Russians didn't fully occupied Georgia in 2008. This is the evidence that Russia isn't trying to expand and the goal of war isn't the expansion. Russia had invaded Ukraine, because : Putin is caring of his popularity, because he is a dictator, he need to hold his position in power, and Putin is trying to make the dreams of some parts of Russian people into the reality. 1) Huge amount of Russians, especially elderly generation, that was living in Soviet Union, aren't seeing the Ukrainian people as people, they see Russians and Ukrainians as one people and elderly generation of Russians want USSR back. 2) Ukrainian army was fighting against Russian separatist regions in the Donbass, and this factor made some parts of Russian population feel angry towards Ukrainians ( I live in Russia and I know what people, that are surrounding me, are thinking). 30-40% of Russians are suppourting war and Putin, because for 8 years since 2014 Ukrainian military was killing Russian separatists in the Donbass region - unrecognized DPR and LPR governments. And Russians are counting this war as a "Crusade against Ukrainian nationalistic government, that was killing Russian rebels for 8 years". And this is particially true - Ukrainian government and governmental ideology is really nationalistic and anti-Russian in terms of history books and monuments. For example Ukrainian nationalistic batalions have nazi symbolics, in the Ukrainian city of Lviv there are the monument of division SS Galichina - Ukrainian WW2 colaborators, that were serving to Hitler. There are a monument of Ukrainian WW2 colaborators in the city of Lviv. Western Ukraine always was nationalistic, and even in Soviet times Russian-speaking person in Lviv was in danger during the night. In 2018 Ukrainian government had provided the language reform - Russian language was banned in schools, governmental buildings, TV and hospitals. In many Ukrainian cities there are the monuments of Stephan Bandera, Ukrainian WW2 nationalist and leader of Ukrainian Rebel Army. And this monuments are making some Russians misunderstood and angry towards Ukrainians, because Ukrainians have monuments of WW2 nazis in theis cities. And of course Putin't propaganda for 8 years was playing on this, hyperbolizing Ukrainian rusophobia. I live in Russia, and in last 3 years we don't had news about Russia. All governmental media is talking about the Ukraine and West. 3) I don't think that this war really have economical reasons, because Russia suffered economic losses from sanctions and isolation. But actions, that Russian government had provided in 2014 had economical reasons. Ukraine wanted to join European Union, and Russian economical elites don't tolerate such move. If Ukraine had entered the European Union, Russian economic elites would lose Ukrainian market, and Ukraine would become more richer country, and such dictator as Putin don't need democratic and more developed country near his borders. And also Europe would use American nukes in Ukraine as an instrument in question of Russo-European gas trade - gas pepelines are located on the Ukrainian territory. But at now this doesn't matter, because Europe would reject gas trade with Russia in 6-8 years, so economy isn't the reason of war. Putin simply need to hold his power, and he need to make something to his Russian servants, and he invaded Ukraine, because some Russians, especially older generation, want the collapse of Ukraine, and this war would provide the popularity and suppourt to Putin. And Putin isn't caring about economy, he isn't caring about the casualities. This is just like an American film - "Johny got his gun" (1971). The old people, that would die soon, sent joung to death and ruined the future of country. Russian people would lose half of their life standarts for imperial happiness of demential old people, that would vote for "United Russia" and Putin in elections. NATO, as a nuclear operator, isn't threating the Russian security, and Russia, as a nuclear operator too, also isn't threating the NATO security. Putin is liar, and he is lying when he is talking about NATO expansion to the East. The reasons of war are political - Putin simply want to hold power no matter by which cost. But "security of Russia", as Putin says, isn't the reason of war.

  89. @jehandesains8674 as a Russian citizen I can say that "shadow mobilzation" is Ukrainian propaganda fake. For first few months of the war Russia fought with small army of 150 thousand contractor troops, while Putin guaranteed that conscripts will not fight in the war, and Russia fought will less than half of its military and without mobilization, and this was the main reason why Ukrainian offensive in Kharkov region in early september 2022 was so sucsessful - there were 2-3 Ukrainian soldiers per each Russian soldier. But after Russia conducted its own mobilization, the numbers of two opposing armies were equalized, and Ukrainian Crimean offensive in 2023 have failed on first step in Zaporojie. At now, currently Russian army also outnumbered by Ukrainian army, there are around 400 thousand Russian troops on the frontline against 500-550 thousand Ukrainian troops. If we consider the fact that Russia is able to win the battles, able to advance and capture land for more than a year straight, while Russia have LESS soldiers than Ukrainian, it is LOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE that Russia more casualities than Ukraine. Logically, according to the facts, it is actually Ukraine suffered more KIA and WIA casialities than Russia, and also there are few times more Ukrainian POWs than Russian. Russia increased its production of FPV drones for dozens of times and at now Russia is using drones more massively than Ukraine, Russia have total superiority of firepower, artillery is a God of War than contributes 90% of casualities in all wars of modern era for last 200 years, and Russia produces 3 times more artillery shells than entire NATO alliance combined, while Ukraine already ran out of Soviet artillery shells in late 2022 and relies on HALF of NATO's arsenals. European NATO ammo storages are half empty. Also Russia modernized its aviation for more accurate glided bombs and Russia massively using 3000 kilogram bombs. Russia have total superiority over Ukraine in firepower, while Ukraine have more men than Russia, Ukrainian police is catching their citizens on the streets like animals and throw into the battle with no preparation, while Russian volunteers at now have at least 2 months of preparation. Ukraine is fighting the war with quantity, while Russia is actually fighting with quality

  106.  @MegaEssin  about Crimea. Why are you even talking about history? You simply don't understand Russian point of view about this question. It is about people, it is about population who lives in it, it doesn't matter who was owner in the past - Roman Empire, Greece, Ottoman Empire, what is matters is that Russian territory with Russian population was given by the Soviets from Russia to Ukraine in 1954, while 60% of population, the wast majority, were Russians and only 15% of population were Ukrainians. This is what matters - Russian population that lived here for generations, this is their soil, soil of their ancestors, population that wanted to rejoin Russia, and since the collapse of USSR in 1991 there were massive protests and separatism in Crimea which Ukrainian police brutally supressed. As you have said Crimea had an autonomic status, and its own parlament, and also you have said that on referendum in 1991 57% of Crimeans voted for independence of Ukraine from USSR. Probably you were trying to justify that Crimeans supported Ukraine. No, the fact that they voted against Soviet Union doesn't mean that they voted for Ukraine. If Crimea was part of Russia in 1991, the same amount of 57% would have voted for independence of Russia from USSR. In 1994 Crimean parlament attempted to hold a referendum, because according to Soviet law in all autonomic regions of USSR there must have been held a referendum. Russia didn't violated the law, and in 1993 there were few referendums in all autonomic regions inside Russia, and for example Tatarstan became independent of Russia in 1993. Ukraine supressed with police 1994 attempt to hold a vote. And also you are wrong about Soviet period - Crimea wasn't given to Ukraine to boost its economy, because Ukraine itself was unprofitable and Russia paid money to Ukraine, because profits were lower then expenses in planning economy and only Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan had resources. And under Ukraine in 1991-2013 Crimea became one of the poorest regions in Ukraine while Ukraine was more poor than Russia. So your whole point is just a Ukrainian propaganda, like "poor undeveloped Russians in 1954 gave Crimea to Ukraine to boost its economy", Ukrainians like to tell this fairy tale, while reality is opposite to this - inside Soviet Union Russia was paying for Ukraine and after USSR ended Ukraine became the most failed post Soviet country in terms of economy with Crimea being very poor. Crimea was given to Ukraine for burecratic reasons inside Soviet government, because peninsula had land connection only with Ukraine so all gas, water and electricity supply was from Ukraine, and there were burecratic reasons to give Crimea to Ukraine in 1954, also because Soviet elites in 1954 would have never thoight that USSR will collapse one day. I don't know why you mentioned Crimean War of 1856 and that "Evil Russia violated treaty just 14 years after it was signed". Like you expect any country to respect a deal that was signed under the pressure. I don't know why, but when Russia multiple times tries to make a deal, West declines it, and West makes a deals with Russia only by putting Russia under the pressure and expect that we will not violate it in the future. What a stupid thinking. French and British army forced Russia to make a signature on some paper making some deal that Russia had no right to have navy in Crimea. 14 years later there was a Franco-Prussian War, so while French were s%cking d%cks we have returned our navy to Crimea because French and British can s%ck our d%cks too. None of deal that was made under pressure will work with us in the longterm, you just have to understand this, but it seems like Zelensky and Europran clowns don't understand this. Also, you are wrong about Soviet policy and like you said "Russification". During Russian Empire there was NO such policy, and opposite - Russia was ruled by German dynasty and Germans were even invited to live on the Volga river, while Russians, Ukrainians and others didn't bothored this German dynasty and were equally slaves for them. Soviets also weren't russifying anyone. Soviets had a communist ideology and their national policy had a goal to actually destroy Russia and destroy Russian nation, culture and identity, and replace it with new built Soviet identity and make an entire new Soviet nation. The so called "Russification" allegedly done by the Soviets is part of Western and Ukrainian propaganda. Soviets were Sovetizing everyone, not Russifying, and Soviets had a goal of World Revolution, they had an ideology of making an entire World communist and Soviet. They weren't russifying anyone. In fact, Soviet propaganda, movies and policy was promoting national minorities. Ukrainian language, culture and history was highly promoted on Ukrainian territory by Soviets. Nearly half of people who lived on Ukrainian soil in 1917 called themselves Russians. Ukrainian national identity, language and culture barely existed in 1917. And it were the Soviets who promoted this. So, your whole point is incorrect and opposite to truth - Soviets weren't Russifying Ukraine, Soviets were making a policy of Ukrainization of Ukraine. In 1917 Lenin gave Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporojie and Kherson lands to Ukraine, after Russia lost a war to Germany and Germans occupied Ukraine, demanding these grain rich lands from Russia, because there was a hunger in Germany in 1917 because of British navy blocade. So, in 1917 Lenin gave to Ukraine Russian lands which Russian army now controls, and Soviet Union was promoting Ukrainian language, culture and history, there was a Ukrainization policy, not Russification. And in 1954 Soviets gave Russian Crimea to Ukraine and there was a 40 years long Ukrainization policy in Crimea. There was no Russification policy in USSR - Lenin was Jewish national and German paid revolutionarie, Stalin was Georgian national, Trotsky was Jewish, Kamenev and Zinoviev were Jewish. Russia as a result of illegal communist coup and bloody civil war was conquered and occupied by communist Jewish international bandit group, and their policy for 70 years was to destroy the core - destroy the Russian national identity, while promoting all other national identities - Soviets were promoting Ukrainian language, culture and history in Ukraine, like they did in Belarus, Kazakhstan and everywhere else except Russia itself. With regards to Stalin's crimes against Crimean Tatars and national minorities - Stalin was a Georgian national evil dictator who killed much more Russians than everyone else. You are wrong if you think that Georgian national Stalin did all these crimes in favour of Russia or to russify anyone, Stalin did all this crimes to protect Soviet Union from separatism and minorities who wanted independence. Its not about russification, it is about Sovietization. With regards to referendum - yeah, it was made without vote standards. But unlike Ukraine, Russia at least held the referendum, while Ukraine in 1994 supressed it with police. And also - Ukrainian protestors from Kiev, that made a coup in 2014 didn't held any referendums also, they just forcefully changed the government. So, why are you expecting a fair election from Russia, while Ukrainians who made a coup in Kiev didn't held any election at all. Ukrainians from Kiev made a coup without asking everyone else's opinion, so the Russians did the same in Crimea. With regards to "Russian human right defender" who told that "turnout in Crimea was 30-50%". How do he know that from Moscow? Do you know that majority of such "journalists" or "human right defenders" in Russia were American paid foreign agents on USAID funding? It is silly to believe the personal opinion of one human rights defender when there is no real proof to his words at all. If you want to understand the truth, you should visit Crimea and talk with Crimean people itself. I have a few friends from Crimea in my university in Moscow, job, I have met Crimeans when I was in school. Majority of Russian population of Crimea supported reunification with Russia. 15% of Ukrainian population were against of course. Opinion of Crimean Tatars doesn't matter because Crimean Tatars want to be independent from BOTH Ukraine and Russia, so if we choos between Ukraine and Russia, opinion of Tatars doesn't matter and we have 60% of Russian and 15% of Ukrainian population. In 2014 Crimea returned to its native harbor after decades of foreign occupation and people of Crimea supported this.

  108. Thanks to the numerical superiority that the APU accumulated during the 7 months of the war, the APU was able to launch a successful offensive in September 2022. But the Ukrainian army won stupidly due to numerical superiority.

  158. At the start of the war Russia had 150 thousand soldiers, DPR abd LPR had 30 thousand and Wagner entered the war on march 17th 2022 with few thousand soldiers. Ukraine had 220 thousand soldiers at the start of the war and mobilized 30-40 thousand per month for last 3 years. Russia have 4 times more population than Ukraine, so if Russia fought a war against Ukraine with mobilization since the start, then Russia would have taken all of Ukraine in first 6 months with 2 million strong army, before the end of 2022. But Russia was limiting itself and fighting a war with limited force of volunteers against NUMERICALLY superior Ukrainian army. So, there is NOTHING SHAMEFUL in fact that Russia didn't managed to quickly capture Ukraine. You have very exagerrated expectations about Russian military, fueled by Western mass media and Western propaganda that always showed Russian army as extremely strong force. But your expectations are your problem, your over-expectations made by Western propaganda are your problem, this is how pre-war military propaganda works - you overestimate military power of your future opponent and when real situation doesn't fit with your over-expectations you call your enemy weak, while in reality you are even weaker - I doubt that ANY European army is capable to fight in Ukraine more effective than Russian, the results Russian army showed are greater than any other army in the World can theoretically get, considering the fact that Russia is simply limiting itself and fighting without mobilization by limited army of volunteers

  179. Russians had invaded Ukraine without numerical superiority, while Ukraine is the largest land millitary in Europe after Russia. Ukraine have far more tanks, than Germany, Poland, Britain or France. If the quality of troops is equal, according to the law of millitary science attacking side is suffering more casualities. The major 2 reasons, why Russian invasion had failed in first few weeks: 1) Joung Russian soldiers aren't motivated to fight against brother Slavic people, a lot of Russians have relatives in Ukraine, probably some Russian soldiers have relarives in Ukraine (Millitary crimes probably were commited by soldiers of Asian and Islamic nationalities or by Russian police forces, not by Russian troops of Slavic nationality, I heard that Bucha massacre was commited by Chechen troops) . Russian soldiers are mentally and morally supressed, they don't want to fight against brother Slavic people. Opposite - Ukrainians have moral boom, they are fighting for their homeland. Also, civillian deaths would demoralize Russians and rise the morale of Ukrainians. 2) Russian command probably believed in its own propaganda, and commanders in Kremlin were thinking, that they would take all of Ukraine in 3 days without resistance, and Russian troops would be met with flowers. And Russian command simply didn't prepared for a war - Russians didn't planned, that they would face the resistance, they thought that they would take all of Ukraine in 3 days, and this is why Russians at now have poor logistics and preparation. Russians were invading Ukraine by moving in columns, very dangerous for ambushes. Russia have a population of 146 million people, while Ukraine have the population of 40 million. The life standarts, economy and corruption in Russia and Ukraine are in the same level, but Ukraine was fighting a Donbass war, and Ukrainians probably worked on corruption in their army, and also Ukrainian army was trained by Western specialists. Also, Ukrainians have modern Western AT weapons and drones. After 3 weeks Russians had stopped their invasion, and at now they are reinforcing and forming the frontline, they made a pause. Russians are dasapointed of their first plan, and they refused it, retreated from Kyiv to regroup and resupply in the Donbass region. This means that Russians aren't targeting occupation of all Ukraine no more, Russians refused their goal to occupie all Ukraine, and at now fighting would go only in the East of Ukraine. Also, because war wasn't declared, and Putin didn't even call this a war, there is no mobilization in Russia. After 2 months from the start of war Russia didn't started mobilization. Also, many mercenaries and volumteers from other countries are supporting Ukraine. Probably Ukrainian side already have numerical superiority over the Russian side. Let's hope this war would end up to the 9th of May - the every-year celebration of Soviet victory in WW2. Putin need to end the war up to 9th of May 2022, so, probably Russia would take Mariupol and Donbass region, and war would end, if Ukrainian side would agree. I think that casualities ratio between Russia and Ukraine is ~2 to 1 in favour of Ukraine. The popular comparison with Iraq is nonesense, because Iraq was technologically backward compared to the US, and Iraqish population had low morale and didn't wanted to fight for their government - Iraqish soldiers were surrendering without a fight. US army was preparing for the invasion for a long time, and US had huge economical superiority. Also, Iraq geographically is a flat territory - the desert, very good for tanks and good for rocket weapons targeting. Also, Iraq didn't had suppourt from other countries, while Ukraine have such suppourt. And even in such conditions US took a MONTH to occupie Iraq. Also, US had economical superiority over isolated in 1991 Iraq by DOZENS of times.

  182. In 2014 USA backed with money and propaganda a revolution, coup in Ukraine, changing power in this country, while Russia was investing money into Ukraine for years since 2000s. So USA basically robbed Russia, and Russia as an answer captured Crimea. Russia came for its share of Ukraine. This is how this war started, basically. Russia just wants its share which USA simply stolen from Russia by organizing a revolution in Ukraine. Crimea is just basically Russian territory with MAJORITY of 60% of population being Russians, and just minority of 16% of Ukrainians, which was transfered from Russia to Ukraine by Soviet government. After the collapse of USSR Russia wanted friendship and cooperation with Ukraine, and Russia recognized Crimea as Ukrainian. But American backed revolution in Ukraine changed this and Russia came to liberate Crimea at first place, and Crimean Russian population wanted to reunite with Russia for years, they are still happy that they are in Russia and support Putin and SMO. Later Russia played reverse UNO card and backed coups in the Donbass, leading to creation of Donetsk and Luhansk separatists, who declared independence from Ukraine. But instead of going to war, Putin wanted to trade this territory back to Ukraine in exchange of Russian political influence on Ukraine. And Putin had a very good deal with Ukrainian president Poroshenko, but they both made 2 mistakes - Putin lost control over Donbass rebels and they didn't wanted to make a peace deal with Uktaine. The same way Putin lost control over Prigojin and Wagner group in 2023. While Ukrainian president Poroshenko lost control over his parliament and Ukrainian parliament also rejected peace deal. So, Putin and Poroshenko made another deal - Ukraine DIDN'T returned Donbass back, but Russia was allowed to invest money into media and political parties inside Ukraine, and pro-Russian party was leading elections on 2nd place in Ukrainian parliament with 20% of vote, until Zelensky came to power and started censorship and purges against free media and his opponents in Ukraine. So, Russia lost the only one peaceful mean of influence over Ukraine and Russia used military soultion. At now Trump is ready to make a deal with Russia dividing Ukraine 50/50. Nothing personal, just business. USA have backed with money and media revolution, change of power in Ukraine in 2014, so Russia which invested money, territories and people into Ukraine was robbed, USA simply have stolen everything from Russia, and at now USA are taking responsibility for their actions, and using diplomacy instead of war. Russia IS reliable ally and partner, unlike European Union, and in early 2000s there was an attempt of friendship between USA and Russia. When 9/11 attack happened, Putin was the first president in the World who called American president, and Russia even allowed its airspace and territory for American army going to war on terror in Afghanistan. USA and Russia need to be at least neutral and not cause problems to each other.

  214. There will be no defeat for Russia in any case - the Russian army is stuck in Ukraine, because there is no mobilization in Russia, because war has not been declared, and this is called a "special operation". Since there is no military mobilization in Russia, the army remained at the pre-war level in terms of numbers, the Ukrainian army now has a numerical advantage over the Russian troops. Since Putin has not declared war, contract soldiers in Russia are even able to refuse military service in Ukraine, and the Russian command is still afraid to throw conscripts to the front - there are conscripts in Ukraine, but their minority, and in Russia more than 10 military enlistment offices have already been set on fire, mothers protest, and there was even a withdrawal of some units from Ukraine to bases in Russia. In fact, Russia is fighting against Ukraine in a quarter of its strength, with a pre-war army, without mobilization, without strategic aviation. And the Russian invasion group was still inferior in numbers to the defending Ukrainian army on February 24, despite the fact that the attacking side, according to the laws of military science, all other things being equal, bears heavy losses. Russian Russian troops were unable to capture a significant share of Ukrainian territories and got bogged down - the Russians attacked in a numerical minority, and there is no mobilization in Russia itself, since war has not been declared, and by the third month of the war the Ukrainians have a numerical advantage. However, it is worth recognizing that Ukraine is the largest country in Europe, and Russian troops have actually achieved good success, taking an area the size of half of Italy or a third of Germany. And the Ukrainian army has shown itself no better - the Ukrainians are also very slow to counterattack, slow to advance, even slower than the Russian troops. So whose cow would still be mumbling about how bad the Russian army is. If Zelensky does not sign a peace with territorial concessions, and the war continues, then over time, especially if the Russian army loses, Putin will simply declare a real war and begin mobilization. And then Ukraine will be simply doomed. Russia has more than three times more population than Ukraine - 146 million against 41. The military industry and the potential are much higher. If the Ukrainians do not make territorial concessions, and moreover, if the Ukrainians win, they will start a countdown timer. In Russia, there will be mobilization and restructuring of the economy on military rails. If Ukrainians win, they will lose. Zelensky says in vain that there will be no negotiations with Russia until the Russians leave Crimea and Donbass. The Russians will not leave Crimea and Donbass, and if the Ukrainians try to take it by force, Russia will go out of the special operation mode into the real war mode. Russian Russian army will be able to take even Kiev with a three-fold numerical superiority, as practice shows that the ratio of losses between the Russian and Ukrainian armies is approximately equal, the level of training and combat capability of the two armies is approximately equal.

  228. The goal of Russia at now is to freeze the war, Russia talks about negotiations since february 2023. The Russian advances have the aim to make victory in informational war, not actual - more and more people on the West are changing their opinion on question of supplying Ukraine with weapons. So, for Russia stability of capturing land is more important than scale, and for Russia victory, is victory in informational war. With current speed of advances Russia will never capture all 4 regions, it will took enternity. But Russia will convince the Western people that all Western help to Ukraine of hundreeds of billions dollars doesn't matter , and they can't change the trend of small, but stable Russian advances, so there would be a freezing of the conflict and symbolic victory of Russia - Russia, a regional power have defeated United States, a superpower, in their hybrid war against Russia, while Russia have 10 times smaller economy. A regional power have defeated a superpower in its region, where United States were expanding their NATO. Chinese would think: "If Russia have succeded, so we also can do it", China unlike Russia have comparable economy with USA, and after Russian symbolic victory Chinese would invade Taiwan, and World would be on the way to multipolarity. Just keep in mind that Asia is growing, and just 40 years ago American economy was a 40% of World economy, while at now it is two times smaller - 20%. American influence across the World have significantly dropped for the last 40 years, and this trend is also inevitable. It will took another 30-40 years untill World would become Multipolar, there would be a dozen of regional powers who, combined, would be much more powerful than 2 superpowers of USA and China, Russia as a state is fighting for its place under Sun in the future, and Ukrainian territories are unimportant right now. When there would be new World order Russia would own Ukraine without conquering it, like Belarus right now in Russian sphere of influence

  234.  @ryuakuma732  In addition, territories are not important for us, we are already the largest country in the world. We are fighting for the people. And everyone who wanted to be evacuated to the territories controlled by Russia was evacuated before the retreat of our troops from near Kherson. About 100 thousand people from Kherson were evacuated to the left bank of the Dnieper. The regions of the south-east of Ukraine are inhabited by Russian people. In Crimea in 2014, 60% of the population was Russian. When our army began to seize the Crimea, the local people rejoiced and greeted our soldiers as liberators. People in Crimea have been waiting for 23 years for the moment when they will return home to Russia. In eastern Ukraine, 50% of the population is Russian and 50% Ukrainian. In the south of Ukraine, 30-40% of the population are Russians. Why did this war even start and why did we decide in 2014 to regain Crimea? You see, there was a coup d'état in Ukraine and the pro-Russian government was overthrown by pro-Western and anti-Russian politicians. Therefore, we were forced, we simply had no choice but to protect the Russian people in Crimea from the anti-Russian revolutionaries who had seized power in Kyiv. Russian people, citizens of Ukraine, went out in 2014 to protest against that coup d'etat and the overthrow of the pro-Russian president. By taking Crimea, we defended their right to self-determination. And the Ukrainian army agreed to voluntarily leave the Crimea. Ukrainian officers shook hands with our officers, 20 thousand Ukrainian soldiers left the Crimea without a fight. Because they knew that Crimea is Russian territory.

About Alaska - it were a fake news from second-sort and unpopular Western media in december 2023, Western media showed a fake scan of a document allegedly signed by Putin, which allegedly spoke about recognizing Alaska as Russian territory, but all this is not true, this document does not exist and Putin did not sign anything. It's just a fake. None of popular Western magazines like CNN or BBC ever showed this news. It were second sort "no name media" This is the first time I've heard about Finland, about the corridor to Kaliningrad between Poland and Lithuania - this is also the first time I've heard that Russia says it wants to seize it. I have only heard about this corridor from Western media and Western military analysts who say that in the event of a hypothetical war between Russia and NATO, this will be the most important thing for Russia, because Kaliningrad is isolated from the rest of Russia, but Russia itself has never said such a thing. At the same time it actually Poland who has been conducting military exercises for 20 years near the Russian border, where Poles are practicing the seizure of Russian territories. Russia has never conducted such military exercises near Polish border. You are talking complete nonsense, or rather the Western media is talking complete nonsense to keep the people in fear of Russia, to use Russia as a boogeyman for propaganda purposes, because the NATO alliance is a tool with which the United States spreads its influence over Europe. In 1945, after the Second World War, Europe lay in ruins, the economy was at the bottom. And then the Americans came and said that those states that join NATO will receive economic and financial assistance in debt from the United States - the so-called Marshall Plan. Read about the Marshall Plan. America is simply using NATO to put Europe in a dependent position. In 1951, the USSR applied to join NATO, because if we are in the same alliance, we will not pose threats to each other. The USSR's application to join NATO was rejected, which for Stalin became a clear signal that the NATO alliance is neither defensive nor peaceful, but an aggressive bloc of American imperialism, which is needed to divide and rule - to quarrel, to push Russia and Europe against each other. Russia is part of Europe, Russia is part of the European family, and the United States does everything to ignite a conflict between Russia and Europe, because until 2022, Russia was a competitor for Americans in the European gas and oil market. After the collapse of the USSR, Russia sought to join the European Union and NATO, and in 2002, Russia's application to join NATO was rejected when the whole of Europe was not against it. Russian Russian gas and oil are being cut off in Europe, and the economy is in recession, and Americans are buying Russian oil and gas on the black market and selling it to Europe at three times the price. 256. After the collapse of Soviet Union Russia turned a blind eye to the fact that Russian territories with a Russian population were part of Ukraine, as long as Ukraine was friendly to Russia. But Russia can no longer allow Ukraine to own Russian lands with a Russian population, when an illegal coup took place in Ukraine in 2014 and a radical change of power happened to anti-Russian. Russian people, who make up the vast majority of the Crimean population, wanted to separate from Ukraine and return to Russia back in 1994, there was separatism back in the nineties. In 1994, the government of Ukraine was friendly to the government of Russia, since the President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, as well as the Presidents of Ukraine and Belarus, destroyed the Soviet Union together, and were friendly to each other. Untill Ukraine had at least NEUTRAL relationship with Russia, Russia wasn't interested in conquering anything. But in 2014, when there were mass protests of the local population in Crimea with the desire to secede from Ukraine, Russia could no longer betray and abandon its Russian people to their fate, and Russian troops peacefully and without a single shot came and occupied Crimea, which the local Russian population is still happy about, Crimea returned home in 2014. However, the Russian troops did not go further, did not capture the whole of Ukraine, because then this was not the goal, Russia did not want to capture Ukraine. If Russia had wanted to take over Ukraine in 2014, Russia would have easily done it in a month, without encountering any resistance from Ukrainian troops. Russia tried to avoid war, Russia tried to avoid conflict with the West, Russia tried to avoid sanctions, and the only reason why the war began in 2022 is because Ukraine wanted to take revenge, Ukraine wanted to regain Donetsk and Lugansk, which for some reason it considers its cities and territories, although the Russian people there rebelled for independence back in 2014. If Russia had not attacked Ukraine in 2022, the war would have started anyway, just in that case, Ukraine would have attacked the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics first. There is a saying - when a fight is inevitable, strike first. A fight was inevitable, Russia didn't wanted this, but Russia striked first

  258.  @celebrim1  you are talking nonesence. Your quote: "Russian troops entered the Donbass, fomented the rebellion, started an ethnic cleaning program, and Ukraine at the time after having gotten wiped out already had no army to speak off" (c) This is just ridiculous nonesence. First of all, according to Ukraine, Russian troops crossed the Ukrainian border only in september 2014, while the wat in the Donbass have started on april 2014. Russian troops have crossed the Ukrainian border after HALF OF A YEAR of war. War was already ongoing for half of year when Russian troops showed up on the frontline first time in the entire war. And how the Russians fomented rebellion? How it is even possible to foment the rebellion, when Russians are 50% of population of this region and there were massive protests, and vaste majority of men who were fighting against Ukrainian army were LOCALS. It were mostly LOCALS from the Donbass region who fought against Ukrainian army. Russian military came to save them only after half of a year of war, because they were at the blink of collapse. Everything you have said is just wrong - Ukrainian army had both numerical and technical superiority over rebels, and after half of year of war Ukraine was very close to victory, it seemed like Ukrainian victory is inevitable, and then at the last monent Russian forces crossed the border and saved Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. And Russian force was very small, something like 4 thousand soldiers, one brigade, because Putin wanted this intervention to be a secret. So, in fact there were 30-40 thousand rebels, few thousand Russian volunteers in DPR and LPR militias and few thousand Russian troops against 60-70 thousand Ukrainian army. And this war was fought mostly by Russian people from Donetsk and Luhansk who wanted to separate from Ukraine. Russian helping force was 3-5 thousand men, and because of mush higher quality Russia was able to achieve victories with this one brigade. Ethnic cleaning program? What are you talking about, you are brainwashed zombie. Tell me more about this program lol

  260.  @celebrim1  About what you said. Your quote is "Russian troops entered Donbass, fabricated an uprising, staged ethnic cleansing and defeated Ukraine because Ukraine did not have an army." This is complete nonsense. First, according to Ukraine itself, the Russian army crossed the border of Ukraine only in September 2014, while the war in Donbas began in April 2014. The war had been going on for half a year by the time the first Russian soldier first appeared on the front line. And it was mostly locals who fought there. Russians made up 50% of the population in Donbas and they wanted independence from Ukraine, and the vast majority of people who fought against Ukraine were Russian civilians, citizens of Ukraine, they were rebels. Russia only helped its Russian people with supplies of weapons, instructors and provisions, as NATO is now helping Ukraine. And the Ukrainian army was not defeated. Ukraine at that time had a huge military advantage over the rebels. Ukraine, of course, had a poorly equipped and untrained army, but ordinary civilians, the rebels, had it even worse, and Ukraine just smashed them for 6 months. Russian army came at the very last moment in September 2014 to save the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, protect their independence and protect the right of the Russian people to self-determination. Russian troops were very few there, because Putin wanted to keep everything a secret from the population of Russia and the whole World, so there were incredibly few troops there - literally one brigade, 3-5 thousand Russian soldiers, but due to technological superiority and training, they were able to defeat the superior Ukrainian forces and establish balance on the front line. However, due to the too small number of troops, Russia could not advance further and the war in Donbass was similar to what is happening now - there were long positional battles like in the First World War. There were 60-70 thousand Ukrainian soldiers against 40-50 thousand rebels and about 10 thousand Russian soldiers and mercenaries.

  265.  @HarryHoppins  you know nothing about how economy works. "Left of the Soviet era" - really? Soviet Union collapsed 33 years ago, and Soviet economy was a governmental monopoly isolated from the World with ban of foreign goods in the market. Soviet economy produced everything from food to TVs and cars, but because of isolation and ban of foreign goods there was NO COMPETITION, and the quality of most of Soviet goods was worser compared to the market economy. Isolated and monopolized Soviet economy also was irrentable, money spending on production was higher than income, while Soviet government was artificially holding the prices on goods low. When prices on oil dropped during the arms race, Soviet economy collapsed. Modern Russian economy is much whealthier and better than Soviet economy. Modern Russian economy is a market economy with globalized free trade, if production exists, it is rentable and this production achieved its existance as a result of competition. Even at now, during a war, whealth and life standarts in Russia are higher than in Soviet Union. In modern Russia we have 300 cars for every 1000 people, while in USSR in 1989 there was just 80 cars for every 1000 people, in USSR car was an expensive rarity for people, at now every Russian familiy have a car, and 90% of Russian cars are good Japanese, German cars, ect.. Modern Russia despite the war and sanctions is a country with global average life standarts, wages and whealth. And what is important, Russian economy is a market economy and it would not collapse like socialist economy did. Russia already hadled challenges that destroyed Soviet Union.

297. @jdm4198  I already said my point of view as a Russian citizen who understand post-Soviet politics very well. Russia is NOT fighting against entire NATO, NATO and West economically and in military sphere are much stronger than Russia. And America is capable to give Ukraine enough weapons to defeat Russia. But America doesn't do it because it is strategically bad for America. Russia is a strategic enemy, and from American point of view it is better to make an ENDLESS war where Russia will be losing manpower, economy, political stability and resources. West have promised Ukraine a weapons and victory over Russia, and it was a LIE, West deceived and used Ukraine, not giving them enough weapons to defeat Russia, but enough weapons to balance with Russia as equals. We were doing the exactly same during Vietnam war. Soviet Union was supplying weapons to communist Vietnam in war against America. Soviet Union had 60 thousand tanks, dozens of millions of artillery shells back then, thousands of anti-air. If Soviet Union wanted to defeat America in Vietnam quickly, it was possible to do. But from strategic, logical and rational point of view, it is better to inflict as many casualities to your opponent as possible, so we were giving to Vietnam a very small but stable stream of military aid for all 10 years of war. America and Europe are doing to Ukraine the exact same thing USSR was doing to Vietnam - lying and manipulating and giving very small amount of weapons just for balance, to equalize power, and nothing more than that. Without Western backing, our millitary could have defeated Ukraine in few months - one year, Western military backing as it can be seen from proven statistics of Ukrainian vehicle and weapon casualities in Kursk region boosted Ukrainian military power by 30-50%. Ukraine had and have quite powerful military even without the West, but now ~1/6 of their vehicles, rifles and equipment is Western (or Kusrk front was held by elite units with such equipment), they have sattelite and CIA backing from USA, and some part of artillery shells and ammo are also Western. This boosts their power by 1.5-2 times. West could have done better by training 400 Ukrainian pilots in these 3 years and giving Ukraine 400 fighter jets, ~20% of their stockpile, but if they want to defeat Russia this is fair deal for them. But in reality UK trained 5 Ukrainian pilots. Just 5

  298.  @UAConstantine  unlike Russia, America had no need in little green men. Russia had a need in little green men, because Russia needed to quickly respond to coup in Kiev by its own coups and Russia used directly its personel from military and FSB. Because Russia was a responding side that needed to quickly respond. America wasn't responding, America was the one who started it in the first place, so America had much more covered long term strategy. Ukraine as a state is oligarchy, which means that all political parties and media in Ukraine is ruled or lobbied by oligarchs. Before 2014, Russia and European Union were economically competing over Ukraine, so Ukrainian economic elites, oligarchs, divided into pro-Western and pro-Russian, and Ukrainian political parties, mass media and people divided into pro-Western and pro-Russian. President Yanukovich wasn't pro-Russian, in fact he was trying to balance between Russia and European Union, but Russian economic influence was very big, it was bigger than European. So when Yanukovich wanted to sign a deal with European Union, Russia started to threat Ukraine with trade tariffs, and Yanukovich was forced to NOT sign a deal with European Union. This provoked massive pro-Western protests in Kiev in the first place, and originally Ukrainian oligarchs have paid poor students to came to protests and oligarch-controlled mass media escalated the protests. This is basically how all protests work in all countries. People don't have collective minds like ants, and one by one, not united, people are unsecure. if you want to organize a protest, you need to start from small artificial protest and then other people will join, you first pay money to crowd, film them on camera, show this on TV and social media and tens of thousands of inspired people come to join the protest. This is how all protests work in all countries, it is all about money. It is IMPOSSIBLE to start any protests without money, because you need the first, initial crowd of people that will be shown in mass media, so entite population of country will see it and some other people will join. In 2013 America have bought 99% share of Ukrainian Novatek company, basically America simply bought Russian gas pipeline in Ukraine. Also Shell corporation had plans to extract Ukrainian gas to replace Russian gas and they signed few contracts. Also fun fact - America spent 5 billion dollars on propaganda and mass media in Ukraine in period of 1991-2013. This money were spent to bribe Ukrainian politicians and Television to form a positive view of West among Ukrainian people. 5 billion dollars. So, by 2013, 37% of Ukrainian population supported idea of joining European Union, while 32% supported Russia and others didn't cared. In reality European Union doesn't want Ukraine to be part of it. Ukraine is very corrupted, oligarch-ruled poor post-Soviet country with little difference from Russia. And such corrupted and poor country have ZERO chances to become part of European Union. In reality, Ukrainian oligarch wanted Yanulovich to be gone for a different reason - Yanukovich was re-distributing oligarch property and assets to his family, and oligarchs were of course unhappy with that, so when deal with European Union failed, oligarchs just used this for excuse, while in reality becoming part of European Union was never real for Ukraine and it was NOT a reason for protests. The only thing that changed after coup in 2014 is that oligarchs re-distributed property back from Yanulovich's mafia, while Ukrainian population got nothing from promised - European Union REJECTED proposal to join, while cutting economic ties with Russia was a disaster for Ukrainian economy because trade with Russia was larger than with EU. But, let's return to original topic. Ukrainian oligarchs paid money for 24/7 toilets, 24/7 food, Molotov coktails, weapons and even military helmets to protestors, and one of Ukraine's oligarchs, Poroshenko, who became a president 2 months later, proudly was saying that he paid for all this. Ukrainian oligarchs and some American money have paid for 24/7 food and toilets with heating during winter, weapons and military helmets for protestors in Kiev. Later the first blood appeared, when Ukrainian policemen, who were used to brutally supress Crimea's Tatar and Russian protests for indepdendence from Ukraine (1994-2013), brutally supressed and killed now Ukrainians themselves in Kiev. Yes, that's right, Ukrainian policemen who killed people in Kiev, this exact special police unit, were the same Ukrainian policemen who were brutally supressing Russian and Tatar protests in Crimea that occured in Crimea 1994-2013. Also Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, because in post Soviet countries naz%s are very healthy strong men with this romantic revolutionary ideas, who want a fight, and during this protests Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, so naz% squads were also fighting police. Later protestors just started to kill policemen with molotov coktails, captured state buildings and president flee from Ukraine to only country he can flee - Russia. After this Russian troops came to Crimea and Russia's FSB came to Donbass to organize the crowd of tens of thousands of pro-Russian protestors. And these people from Donbass, under FSB leadership, later were fighting against Ukrainian army who came to them with bad intentions, and 20 thousand of volunteers from local population were fighting for 5 months before the first ever Russian soldier crossed the border in september 2014. Pro-Russian separatists in the Donbass were fighting without Russian support for 5 months, before first ever Russian soldier appeared. This is a proof that these coups in the Donbass were the people's will, like coup in Kiev. Our philosophy is built on rejecting hypocrisy - if pro-Western Ukrainians in Kiev had a right of self-determination, then Russians in Crimea and pro-Russian population in the Donbass also had such a right of self-determination. We will divide Ukraine into spheres of influence together with West, like East and West Germany. Russia tried to secure its sphere of influence from foreign great powers. Yes, originally we wanted to take Kiev and set puppet regime. We failed. Now the only logical thing that Zelensky must do for his people is make a peace deal to prevent further useless deaths. Ukraine will be divided between Europe and Russia anyways, there is no need of further continuation of war, we in Russia were surprised by your resistance, you held well, now, let's end this. What Ukraine did in last days - violated an energy ceasefire. Europe rejected our proposal of ceasefire and grain deal in Black Sea. Why are you doing that? You want the Russian army to take more of your territory? Trump gave Zelensky a chance to end the war at best possible conditions and Zelensky decided to violate ceasefire striking Russian energy infrastructure and Europe rejected lifting sanctions from Russian grain, making ceasefire in the Black Sea impossible, while Zelensky sees EU as Ukraine's new masters.

  299. In general, the most incomprehensible thing in this war is Putin's goals. Considering what price Russia is paying for the war in Ukraine, sanctions, etc., it becomes unclear - is it worth it? Putin is not crazy, is he? It seems to me that if we want to understand Russia's goals, we should still listen to what Putin said on February 24. Of course, he lied and exaggerated, but still the declaration of war speech contains the reasons for the war, albeit exaggerated in order to justify it. What if Putin is really right about something, or did he have no choice? Putin said that Ukraine wanted to join NATO. So, what if Ukraine, having joined NATO, and having received guarantees of independence from Western countries that have nuclear weapons, could use these guarantees to return Donbass, and possibly Crimea to its composition? And Putin, knowing this, decided to strike a screwing blow, to forestall the enemy. Judge for yourself - if Russia is hungry for expansion, then why was Georgia not completely captured in 2008? Why was peace concluded with Georgia after 5 days of fighting, although the defeat of the Russian army was not inflicted, but on the contrary - the Georgian army was defeated in Ossetia, and Russian troops on the fifth day of the war approached the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, after which peace was concluded on the Georgian initiative. This means that expansion is not the goal of Russia. And if Putin wanted to seize Ukraine, he should have attacked in 2014 or 2015, when Ukraine simply did not have an army. And so it turns out that Putin gave Ukraine 8 years to prepare for war. This means that the decision to invade Ukraine was made spontaneously, and before that, in 2021, 2020, 2019 and other years, Putin did not plan an invasion of Ukraine. What could make Putin make a quick decision? Well, only my point of view is logical here, that Ukraine, using NATO's protection guarantees, wanted to seize Donbass, and that Putin simply had no choice whether to invade Ukraine or not, because if he had not invaded, Donbass would have been taken by Ukrainian troops, and Russia, risking a clash with NATO, would have been sitting on the sidelines. In general, it is worthwhile to understand in principle what has been happening for the last 8 years.

At first Russian court wanted to send him to prison, but in 2013 he participated in campaign to be elected as mayor of Moscow, and Sobyanin needed him on this election to legalize himself in front of people by defeating Navalny in election, so Russian court changed his mind and there was no real punishment, but charges remained. Even European Union's court recognized charges against Navalny as legal, but when Navalny wasn't let for presidential election in 2018 he said that "Putin is dictator and didn't let me for election". After 2025 Trump closure of USAID funding it became clear that Navalny and all so called Russian opposition were American puppets on American money funding, and also in 2024 Maxim Cats, a Jewish national Russian dissident made an investigation against his former comrades, and it became clear that in 2000s there were fraud bankers who have illegally stolen money from Russian people, from their bank clients, and laundered this money using British bakns and left Russia in 2009 with 2 billion dollars being illegally stolen. In the West this fraud bankers claimed themselves as "political victims" and anti-Russian policy in media inside Russia was also sponsored by these bankers. So basically anti-Putin opposition are people that actually worse than Putin. This is people who were corrupt officials in Russia in 90s and 2000s, but lost power when Putin became president, this is former oligarchs who have stolen billions of dollars from the people in the 90s and lost everything when Putin came to power, this is fraud laundering bankers who also stolen billions of dollars from Russians, and simply American and European puppets funded by foreign money. And adult Russian population who saw misery and oligarch hell in Russia in the 90s, before Putin bringed order, economic growth and stability, didn't supported this opposition. This is why majority was voting for Putin instead of this opposition, and only young 14 years old children supported Navalny.

  316. @European_Liberal  With regards to "Russian superior military spending in 10 years compared to SMALL Western military aid". I want to ask - your name is European Liberal, I think you are European patriot, but why West, that have 20 times more economy than Russia is giving that small military aid to Ukraine that Ukraine isn't capable to defeat Russia in 3 years, while European military alone before the war was stronger and numerically superior to Russian military. At now, after 3 years of war, considering the fact how Russian army grew up in numbers for few times and considering the growth in quality and gaining experience, I already doubt that combined European army without Ukraine is stronger, but US military is still two steps ahead and Russia have no chances against it. Then why West didn't just gave 20% of its equipment, tanks, aviation and etc to just defeat Russia in few months? Because Ukrainian victory isn't profitable for the United States, so United States want this war to continue for as much as possible, this is a war of ATTRITION against Russia and waste of lives of Ukrainian soldiers doesn't matter for the United States. United States are ABLE to give Ukraine as much military help as will be enough to completely quickly defeat Russia, but they aren't doing it, they are giving very small and insufficient help for Ukraine on PURPOSE, this is their goal - to give Ukraine NOT ENOUGH help so this war of attrition against Russia will continue and their military industrial complex will have profits. Also we must understand HOW the West is giving help to Ukraine, the billions of dollars which United States are spending aren't going to Ukraine, this money are going to American military industry, which produces new weapons, while old weapons are going to Ukraine. So basically Ukraine doesn't even get this money, United States are paying this printed money to themselves and rearming THEIR OWN military, while Ukraine gets rotten old equipment from old storages

  325.  @fiorino4554  war is a very expensive and financially costly business. Ukraine's economy collapsed as a result of the war. The Ukrainian economy has suffered from war much more than the Russian economy has suffered from sanctions. Without the financial assistance of the West, Ukraine would have been defeated long ago. In 2022, the West provided Ukraine with about 120 billion euros of financial assistance. These are three annual state budgets of Ukraine. Three annual budgets (36 months) of the country for 10 months of 2022. 15 military budgets. Before the war, in 2021, for example, Ukraine spent about 8 billion euros on the army, about 20% of the state budget. In 2022, Ukraine was allocated 120 billion euros of financial assistance. Without this help, Ukraine would not be able to wage war for economic reasons, and Russian tanks would have been in Odessa and Kiev for a long time. If not for the financial assistance of the West, Ukraine would have capitulated in the summer of 2022. And Russia, in fact, is not fighting against Ukraine. Russia is fighting against the Western Bloc. Russia is fighting against part of NATO. The United States, Britain and France have nuclear weapons, and Russia also has nuclear weapons. Therefore, a direct military conflict between Russia and NATO is impossible. And the West uses Ukrainians and Ukraine instead of its own soldiers. As for arms supplies, they amount to about $30 billion. Russia spent so much money before the war on rearmament of the army in 3 years. So, in fact, Russia is fighting against NATO. If it were not for the support of the West, Russia would have already captured the whole of Ukraine twice in last year. Do not forget that Ukrainians have been preparing for war for 8 years and building fortifications in the east of the country. In the first seven months, Russia fought against Ukraine with a relatively small contingent of contract soldiers, without conscripts and without mobilization. Thanks to the numerical superiority that the APU accumulated during the 7 months of the war, the APU was able to launch a successful offensive in September 2022. But the Ukrainian army won stupidly due to numerical superiority. In other words, it's not an equal fight. Under equal conditions, the Russian army demonstrated a much higher combat capability in March 2022, capturing huge amount of territory. As of mid-April 2022, the Russians have seized territory in Ukraine the size of England. Do not forget that the Ukrainian army is much stronger than the French, German or British army. Ukraine on February 24, 2022 had ~150 thousand. soldiers and 1,000 tanks, the AFU is the largest army in Europe. And in the end, despite all these weapons, despite all this help, despite the numerical superiority of the AFU, at the end of one year Russia is still winning - 60% of the Kherson region, half of the Zaporozhye region, 30% of Donetsk region and 70% of the Luhansk region have been occupied by Russia since February 24, 2022. This means that, on average, over the past year, the Russian army has acted more successfully than the Ukrainian army, and Russia is still winning. On early march 2023 for example Russia encircled Bakhmut, cutting off from supplies the Ukrainian army in the city.

  328.  @fiorino4554  As for the size of the army, Russia has a million military personnel. However, Russia has a fleet, nuclear troops, aviation, air defense. And out of a million military personnel, Russia has about 440 thousand infantrymen, marines and paratroopers. Of these, half are conscripts who do not participate in the war. And half of the contractors. Of the 200 thousand contract soldiers, not all agreed to go to fight in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Many signed a contract for one or two months, and returned to Russia in April-May 2022. Many took vacations. Thus, for the first 7 months of the war, Russia fought with a limited contingent of 100-120 thousand soldiers, plus 40 thousand rebel soldiers from the DPR and LPR. Russia fought without mobilization and is still fighting without conscripts. Thus, on the first day of the war, Russia had approximately 150,000 soldiers. Ukraine had a comparable army already on the first day of the war, while Ukraine began to mobilize from the first day of the war. And for a successful offensive, a numerical superiority of at least one and a half times is needed. The Russian army, with equal numbers, captured vast territories in the first month of the war, and even after leaving the north of Ukraine, the area occupied by Russia was comparable to the area of England. However, the Russian offensive eventually stalled in the superior Ukrainian numbers. By September, Ukraine had accumulated a sufficient numerical superiority, and went on the offensive. Russia also began to mobilize. The Russian professional contract army showed excellent results for 7 months of the war from February 24 to September 2022

It was an oligarch coup supprted by the West, and Russia did nothing before 2014 to provoke this. Youtube Western censorship is deleting my comments, and I am lazy to explain, so, I will copy my reply to another person in changed comment. it was a coup - the president was overthrown, he was forced to leave, and there was no vote, he wasn't voted out. No matter how bad Yanukovich was, instead of making a coup, Ukrainian people could have just elected different president in upcoming election in may 2014. But instead they made a coup, and Russia as an answer played a reverse UNO card in Crimea and Donbass. None of this could have happened if Ukrainians used a legal procedure to choose a better president 2 months after. But in fact it is not Ukrainian people who did this. In 2013 America have bought 99% share of Ukrainian Novatek company, basically America simply bought Russian gas pipeline in Ukraine. Also Shell corporation had plans to extract Ukrainian gas to replace Russian gas and they signed few contracts. Also Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, because in post Soviet countries naz%s are very healthy strong men who want a fight, and during this protests Ukrainian oligarchs paid money to naz%s, so naz% squads were also fighting police. Later protestors just started to kill policemen with molotov coktails, captured state buildings and president flee from Ukraine to only country he can flee - Russia. After this Russian troops came to Crimea.

About which soverignty you are talking? Ukraine is not a sovereign country since American backed coup in Kiev, and Russian POV is completely RELEVANT here, because pro-Russian part of Ukrainian population, in Crimea, in the Donbass, have the right of self determination, just like people from Kiev had theirs. I reccomend you to read my comment regarding Crimea, I pointed all your mistakes to you. Just imagine that during January 6th 2021 protests in USA, Russian foreign minister Lavrov comes to USA, talks with Trump, gives an inspiring speech to protestors, gives them cookies and then protestors storm Capitoli, Senate and White House and Biden loses power. This is what happened in Ukraine - high ranking American officials came to lead the coup, and there were American money, media and support. Ukraine is NOT a sovereign state, and Russia have a right to do the same to Ukraine as what America did. America intervened inside Ukraine supporting a coup in Kiev, so Russia did the same, but in Crimea and Donbass, because there were pro-Russian people in Crimea and Donbass and pro-Western people in Kiev. What are you saying is complete arrogance, ignorance of other people's opinion, egoism, very typical for Westerner, very typical for Western ideology. But Russia is not a country you can mess, we are not submissive to anyone and our people will fight in a war for Russia's interests. What America was doing to Russia before Trump in 2024 was a so called by Americans themselves "containment policy". America is the World's greatest superpower, and World's greatest superpower wants to protect its hygemony and dominance in the World, and in order to do it America is trying to get rid of competitors. This is why America is waging an agressive economic and trade wars against China. What China did bad for America? China is a peaceful nation that didn't invaded anyone in last 50 years, while America invaded Iraq, Syria, Lybia, Kosovo. China didn't invaded anyone, China did nothing bad to the World. But America is waging a trade wars against China and portrayes China as a devil in media, and when Biden came to power in 2021, already in january 2021 Biden called China and Russia as strategic enemies and USA formed a military alliance against China, including Filliphines, South Korea, Japan and etc.. America is trying to get rid of that holy competition , about whicb pro-Western liberals were lying to us in Russia during the collapse of USSR. They were talking about democrasy and competition. So, where is this democrasy and fair competition? After the collapse of USSR, Russia had a dream of building a democrasy, of becoming part of Western World, even during first years of Putin, Russia wanted to join EU and NATO, Russia was open like never before in history. And what the West did? West tried to put pressure on us up to complete end. It was a mistake. Russia survived all economic sanctions, and adopted to them. Russian army wasn't defeated on battlefield with all Western help. You can't do anything to us now, you can't contain us now like you wanted, we are inevitable. So, Putin achieved the most important goal of building a strong and sovereign Russia - Russia can't be contained now, all means to contain Russia failed. It means that now we can do what we want without any consequences. You can't sanction us even more than now. America wanted to play a game with us, but they didn't knew that these game can be played from the other side too.

We have defeated all great powers that were putting pressure on us, invading us - Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Tatars, and now they hate us calling us an "occupiers", "colonizators", while being proud of capturing Moscow in 1612. They don't see anything after them, just like you.

  399.  @Wladyslaw1440  war is a very expensive and financially costly business. So, in fact, Russia is fighting against NATO. If it were not for the support of the West, Russia would have already captured the whole of Ukraine twice in last year.

  516.  @Silvergalaxy7383  Ukraine opening front in Kursk was beneficial for Russia. Before Kursk operation, Russians were capturing 200 square kilometers of land per month on the Donbass front. Ukrainians have weakened their defenses to invade Russia, and while Ukraine captured 1200 square kilometers of land in Kursk, Russians started to capture 600-800 square kilometers per month in the Donbass instead of 200. And at the end Ukrainians also lost these 1200 square kilometers. So, Ukraine lost at Kursk while their goal was a madness from the start - Russia is biggest country in the World, a country with population of 140 million people. What they wanted to achieve? Capture Kursk, or Moscow, or Vladivostok? And alongside losing elite units in Kursk they lost a 2000 square kilometers more land in the Donbass. This is a complete disaster for Ukraine. Russians stopped their offensive in south Donetsk region after capturing several cities and nearly reaching Dnipro region border. Russians regroupped their forces to finnish Ukraine in Kursk, giving Ukraine opportunity to recapture some land in the Donbass. But again - land exchange is highly in favour of Russia. Russia captured 300 square kilometers in Kursk, while Ukraine recaptured barely 30 square kilometers in the Donbass after Russians captured extra 2000 as a result of Kursk operation. Russians are trying to conduct a diversion moves in Zaporojie, and there is equal exchange in Kupyansk front, but Russians are concentrated in Sumy and Belgorod right now after Ukrainian command made another low IQ move. Ukraine is sacrficing its soldiers in useless assaults for PR in media and TV, while all Russian media was blocked in the West. So this is simple PR propaganda move with no goal of capturing 7 square kilometers in 7 days, sacrficing already few batallions of cannon fodder, in a country with area of 17.1 million square kilometers. Soon the negotiations will lead to ceasefire and Zelensky lost the only card he wanted to use against Russia - to exchange land in Kursk for Russian controlled lands somewhere else. Without Kursk front, now front is balanced and Russia will barely capture 150-200 square kilometers per month, like it was before Kursk incursion. With such a rate war have mo meaning to continue for Russia either.

  531.  @goldenprincess3564  Russia has state capitalism. This is the ugliest form of capitalism, when the entire market is held by a few large state-sponsored monopolies, and there is no competition. In the absence of competition within the country, it is impossible to create a quality product that will be able to compete with foreign products. If we look at the Russian economy, we see that Russia produces almost nothing. The domestic market is dominated by imports. And even the little that Russia produces is produced on foreign equipment and from foreign components. Take the same Russian automobile or aviation industry. Engines, spare parts and details of foreign development and production. The Russians essentially just bought foreign equipment, bought foreign parts, and molded it into a car or aircraft of dubious quality. Russian cars are significantly inferior in quality to the Western automobile industry. In fact, Russia produces nothing but oil, gas and resources. The whole economy is about selling oil and buying imports. Or buy imported equipment and imported spare parts, and create some kind of nonsense out of it. As for the statistical indicators, yes, they were the world average before the sanctions. It is also important to understand here that in the summer of 2022, due to high gas and oil prices, as well as falling imports, the ruble strengthened greatly, and the value of the dollar in Russia fell. As a result, false statistics were obtained, showing Russia's GDP. But in fact, the Russian economy for 2022 has fallen sharply. Prices have risen much more than wages. And by the end of 2022, the dollar returned to the pre-war level, so by the end of 2022 Russia's GDP was statistically the same as at the beginning of 2022

  543. @markmackan3274 the president was overthrown, he was forced to leave, and there was no vote, he wasn't voted out. Later the first blood appeared, when Ukrainian policemen, who were used to brutally supress Crimea's Tatar and Russian protests for indepdendence from Ukraine (1994-2013), brutally supressed and killed now Ukrainians themselves in Kiev. 563. Ukraine suffered more KIA and WIA casialities than Russia, and also there are few times more Ukrainian POWs than Russian.

  566.  @buddyg7713  do you think Europeans want to fight against Russia and die in the frontlines? NATO never would intervene in this conflict, because pacifistic Western societies are against war and they don't want to go to war with Russians. At now many people in USA hate George Bush for starting war in Iraq, despite the fact that this war was victorious for USA with low casualities (only few thousand US KIA for 300+ million USA population). They don't want to participate in any war, this is why NATO withdrew from Afganistan. War in Vietnam ended because of anti-war protests. Western people would be against war with Russia if it would happen, while Russians will count this as a war for their survival against invaders. Don't underestimate Russia like Napoleon or Hitler did. Russia may appear weak in some conflicts, but Russian army always was able to study on its own mistakes. Russian army always was able to study and improve the quality. 160 million populated USSR won a phyrric victory in a war with Finland, capturing 20% of Finnish territory and 2nd largest Finnish city, and losing lives of 120 thousand soldiers for that. In a war against Finland, that had total population of 2 million. But USSR was able to defeat 70 million populated Germany, that had economic capabiluties off all Europe, and USSR defeated Germany mostly without lend-lease, which came mainly since 1944. Russian Empire lost many battles to Napoleon in the first coalition wars, but war of 1812 was a disaster for France and in 1814 Russians were in Paris. If NATO would start a war against Russia, I believe that peoples of Europe and USA would protest against this war, just like anti-war protests during the Vietnam war. And this means that NATO would fight against Russia without mobilization, while Russia would declare a war-time economy and total mobilization. No one side would be able to achieve victory. NATO without mobilization, with limited force, wouldn't be able to conquer Russia, they will capture some territories and would be bogged down, and there would be a stalemate for NATO troops exactly like for the Russians in Ukraine. About NATO training - NATO don't have an experience to fight a real wars against capable enemy, they always fought against rebels and untrained Iraqi poor equipped troops. Ukrainian and Russian army have the experience of a real war of two modern armies, so, both Ukrainian and Russian troops have better training and quality than NATO troops. Ukrainian forces, that participate in the counter-offensive were trained by NATO instructors. And we see how Leopards are burning from Russian kamikadze drones, we see that in 2 months of offensive Ukraine captured few villages with thousands of lives lost. Ukrainian army, trained by NATO instructors and equiped with NATO weapons and vehicles, is losing thousands of troops in WW1 style offensive with capturing few villages in 2 months. NATO troops are even less trained than Ukrainian troops, because unlike Ukrainians, NATO don't have experience.

  568. The reason why the Russian army was not able to quickly capture all of Ukraine, and the war dragged on, is that Russia is not fighting against Ukraine at full strength. For the first 7 months, Russia fought against Ukraine at a quarter strength, now Russia is fighting at half strength. The fact is that in Russia a significant part of society does not support this war. And even among the supporters of the war, there are people who will not approve of large losses. That is why Putin, in his speech on February 24, 2022, stated that only volunteers would fight in Ukraine. 18 year old recruits will not take part. And this is 50% of the Russian army. By the way, they still do not fight, although 11 months have passed. And among contract soldiers, only volunteers who have signed a contract fight. At the same time, war has not been legally declared, so that Russian soldiers, after the expiration of the contract, can count on vacation at the state expense, and they have the right not to conclude a new contract. Thus, many fought in Ukraine for one or two months, returned to Russia, and never returned there. In other words, out of its entire army (440 thousand soldiers), Russia deployed approximately 100 thousand soldiers in Ukraine at the same time. In fact, Russia started the war by sending a small part of its forces to Ukraine, about a quarter of the army. At the same time, Russia fought for the first 7 months without mobilization. Those. these 100,000 soldiers fought in Ukraine without reinforcements. At the same time, Ukraine had 200 thousand soldiers at the beginning of the war. The Ukrainian army from the first day of the war had a numerical advantage. As of February 24, 2022, 100 thousand Russian soldiers and 40 thousand soldiers from the DPR and LPR opposed the 200 thousandth Ukrainian army. But for a successful offensive, a numerical superiority is needed. In addition to the 200,000 original soldiers, Ukraine began to mobilize from the first day of the war. The Russian army, being in a numerical minority, successfully advanced only in the first 3 weeks. Then the offensive got bogged down in Ukrainian numbers. Nevertheless, Russia performed well until September. This tells us that the Russian army is more combat-ready, and the losses of Ukraine are higher. This is confirmed by military history. In modern warfare, 90% of losses are the result of artillery. Russia until August had a total superiority in artillery. Also, do not forget the difference between a contract soldier and an 18-year-old conscript. An 18-year-old conscript is an unfit soldier. Yesterday he was sitting at the school desk. And a contract soldier is a professional soldier, an adult 30-year-old man who voluntarily serves in the army for several years, receiving a good salary. Until the start of mobilization on September 21, 2022, Russia fought against Ukraine with volunteer contract soldiers, and Ukraine is fighting with 18-year-old cannon fodder. While Russian 18 year old conscripts still don't take part
