@Nico9472_ Wagner is advancing in city, in very tall modern buildings, while Ukrainian forces captured empty potato field. It is easy for troops to advance througth open field. And de facto Ukraine didn't captured this potato field - open field is a bad position for defense, so Russian simply abandoned open areas in favour of defensible positions in nearest forest belts

@maratibragimov338 You are wrong - in January, Russian troops took Soledar, and the territory south and north of Bakhmut was captured at the end of February. Russian troops are not constantly advancing. So it cannot be said that "it took the Russians two months to capture this territory." Russian troops advance in jerks after prolonged shelling by artillery, and in fact the same potato field was occupied by Russian troops in a couple of days in a jerk, like the Ukrainians. Ukraine generally sat on the defensive for 3 months, and only now began the offensive. But I'm not saying that Ukraine allegedly could not recapture this field for 3 months

@figerdron_8972 probably yes, like Ukrainian troops in their thench positions. But it begins to play a role when someone starts an offensive, and soldiers rise from the trenches, crawling to the surface.

@figerdron_8972 Bakhmut is mostly captured by Wagner. Going on the offensive to get a supply line for an almost lost position is strange. I think the purpose of this offensive is to encircle the Russian troops in Bakhmut, or create a bag. Once the sack is established, the supply road can play a role to attack directly into the city.
