  1. If Ukrainian counteroffensive wouldn't happen, the conflict would start to de-escalate, and it would be frozen. And probably somewhere in 2025 there would be a peace threaty between Russia and Ukraine, where Russia will annex the territories, that are under Russian control at now + Bakhmut, that will fall soon. But this only if there wouldn't be any succesfull Ukrainian offensives

  2. You can barely call Ukraine a democrasy. This is more likely an oligarchic republic, where all politicians are oligarch-owned puppets. Ukraine is very corrupt and not very democratic country, according to statistics from pre-war 2021
