  12. In Crimea in 2013, prior to annexation, according to statistics from the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Russians made up 60% of the population, while Ukrainians made up just 16% of Crimea's population in 2013. In other words, Crimea is Russian territory, where the vast majority of the population is Russian. Crimea itself was originally part of Russia. Crimea was originally part of the Russian Soviet Republic. But in 1954, the Soviet government, by its short-sighted decision, handed over Russian territory, where the overwhelming majority of the population is Russian, transfered this territory from Russian Soviet Republic to Ukrainian Soviet Republic. In 1991 the USSR collapsed. Russia liberated itself and other countries from the USSR. For 23 years, since 1991, Russia was absolutely satisfied with the fact that Crimea was part of Ukraine, while Ukraine was a friendly country. But in 2014, a coup took place in Ukraine. Under such conditions, Russia was forced to conduct a rescue evacuation operation and evacuate Russian territory with 60% of the Russian population to Russia. The local population is happy to reunite with Russia. I know this because I myself communicated with the Crimeans live and in social networks. 60% of the population of Crimea before the annexation were Russians, and these Russians were happy to return to their native harbor, to return to Russia. The Ukrainian army gave Crimea away without a fight, which again proves that it is not Ukrainian. After the return of Crimea to Russia, an uprising began in the Donbass. In the south-east of Ukraine, Russians make up 50% of the population. And these Russian people raised an armed uprising, they wanted to secede from Ukraine. The war has begun on april 2014, when Ukrainian MOD announced so-called "anti-terrorist operation". Ukrainian punishers have deprived the Crimea of water supply. Ukrainian punishers carried out rocket and artillery strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Donbass. People in Donbas still do not have water, electricity and communications. Russia began to launch similar missile strikes against Ukraine only in October 2022, after 8 months of war. Ukrainian punishers did this already in 2014. Crimea was cut off from water supply already in 2014. In 2015, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that "we will have pensions, they (the separatists) will not, we will have a job, they don't, our children will go to school on September 1, their children will sit in basements, and that's how we (Ukraine) win." This is a direct quote. The Ukrainian president said in 2015 that Russian children in Donbas would be kept in basements, and this is how Ukraine would win. And the Ukrainian humorous studio "Kvartal 95", where Zelensky worked, satirized Poroshenko's words, joking that "Russian children in the Donbas no longer need to go to school, Ukrainian artillery fulfills children's dreams." In Donetsk, there is such an attraction - the "alley of angels". This is a list of children who have died under Ukrainian shelling since 2014. Ukraine almost achieved victory over the rebels in 2014, but Russian intervention halted the Ukrainian offensive and reversed the front in August 2014. Ukraine understood that Russia would protect the Russian rebels in the Donbass. Therefore, Ukraine set a course for joining NATO in order to attack the DPR and LPR with impunity. Let's imagine a picture before the 21.02.2022 - almost the whole world recognizes Crimea as Ukrainian, and in general the whole world, including Russia, recognizes Donbass as the territory of Ukraine. Then Ukraine joins NATO, and attacks Donbass, and possibly Crimea. And Russia cannot do anything about it, because if Russia starts helping the rebels, it will be regarded as an invasion of Ukraine and the NATO article about collective defense will work. And there would be a nuclear war between Russia and NATO. So the most realistic scenario was: Ukraine joins NATO and attacks the rebels with absolutely impunity. There are nationalist battalions in the Ukrainian army, such as Azov. These guys wear Nazi symbols, they have tattoos of Hitler, and they hate Russians as a nation. Now let's think about what would happen if Ukrainian troops attacked the DPR and LPR - Ukrainian soldiers massacre the entire pro-Russian local population. Well, in general, there are many videos that are filmed by Ukrainian soldiers themselves, where they say to the camera how they hate the "separatists" and pro-Russian population. If the Ukrainian army entered the territory of the rebels, there would be a genocide. If we had not attacked Ukraine, Ukraine would have simply joined NATO and attacked the Donbass. And we, Russians, have no right to leave our blood brothers in trouble. In 2014, the Russian people in southeastern Ukraine started an armed uprising because they wanted to break away from Ukraine and become part of Russia. Just like Crimea did. And since 2014 there has been a war. Russia defends the right of the Russian people in southeastern Ukraine to self-determination. Ukraine wanted to join NATO in order to attack Russian rebels with impunity. Russia had no choice but to attack first.
