While Ukraine invaded a completely empty, undefended territory with little amount of Russian troops. Everyone can occupy empty undefended territory, but when Russian reinforcements came Ukrainians were stopped, suffered losses and already dozens of Ukrainian soldiers were captured POWs. If they can't win on the Donbass they can't win near Kusrk

  2.  @PIEKART2001  there is no panic in the military, Ukrainians came to undefended territory with literally no Russian troops, there was no frontline before Ukrainians crossed the border. In such condition Russian soldiers are motivated to fight for their land while Russian corrupted command doesn't care. Russian reinforcement came to region and Ukrainian offensive was stopped, at now they are unable to move further after capturing few villages. Korenovo in in contested area where Ukrainians made a spearhead with risk of encirclement and Russian flank attack, Sudja have a population of 5 thousand people. Ukraine achieved nothing by sacrfycing its troops from defending Donbass region - a highly populated urban are with landscape superiority on Ukrainian side where Ukraine was buiding fortifications and bunkers for 8 years since 2014 to 2022, and currently Russian army is storming the last piece of 2014 defensive line, Toretsk, Russians nearly captured New York and are advancing towards Pokrovsk. So, Ukraine is losing its best, fortified urban defensive area in exchange to capture few villages inside 17 million sqare kilometers Russia for propaganda PR attack, where Ukraine already lost 4 Partiot anti-air system and thousands of soldiers.

And also - previous head of FSB Patrushev at now is Putin's advisor in security council, he isn't in charge of anything. I don't think Putin, Russian command or anyone in power is in panic, the Ukrainians captured 700 square kilometers in county 17 million square kilometers of size, this is bad only in terms of propaganda and politics, but from military point of view nothing critical happened, this is nearly 3% of Kursk region and frontline is still 2 times closer to Ukrainian city of Sumy than to the Kursk, while Ukraine is wasting men, Western weapons and Patriot system in suicidial attack on Russian soil, Ukrainian defense is unstable in the Donbass region where Russians are crushing through Ukrainian defense line and fortifications which they were building fot 10 years since 2014, Russians are nearly captured strongest defensive line on Planet, probably more fortified than border between South and North Koreas. Ukraine had opportunity to not do this useless attack, but to defend its territory with more efficiency. And what Ukrainians achieved by this attack? Zelensky have said that they want to spread the war into Russia, spread the war into innocent Russian civiliian population. This is just emotions with aim of revenge and no logical thinking. Ukraine is wasting manpower and Western weapons for nothing. Budanov said that they wanted to capture Russian atomic station in Kurchatov to blackmail Russia by nuclear threat, they were stopped by Russian forces and wouldn't achieve this, just like the capture of Kursk itself.
