By refusing to accept the aid from the government these farmers are mosr surely hurting the american people because they will raise prices of the food they farm to make ends meet. It is the government's constitutional duty to ensure the general welfare of the people. The US is in a trade war. It is the government's duty to protect the people from the effects of this trade war. If a foreign nation bombed the farms would the farmers accept aid to ensure prices of food did not go up? Or would they refuse aid and pass the hardship onto the general public by raising prices? If these farmers are going to raise the prices of food instead of accepting aid from the government then these farmers are in alliance with the enemy nations which the US is at war with in this trade war. That makes these farmers treasonous. Do you know the penalty for treason?
