You mean hypothesis? Theories are proven ideas. A hypothesis is an unproven idea.

@ba77inganope28 It seems you are missing my point. Without taking a side in the debate over whether evolution is real or not the fact is that there is a difference between a hypothesis and a theory which most people don't understand. These people often use the term "theory" when they actually mean "hypothesis". They should use the term "hypothesis" instead of "theory" and vice verse. You obviously don't believe evolution has been proven so shouldn't call it a theory. You should call it a hypothesis. Not a theory. That was the point of my first comment here. Wasn't that obvious?

@ba77inganope28 How did I misinterpret your summarization? I know it is called a theory and that is why you refer to it as the theory of evolution. But you shouldn't call it a theory if you don't believe it should be regarded as having the status of a theory...even if others believe it to be a theory. If you call it a theory when you don't believe it is actually a theory then you both contradict and betray yourself. Or do you accept that evolution is more than a mere hypothesis since the fossil record does seem to provide some proof for the hypothesis? I personally do not believe Darwinian evolution is correct. Random mutation and natural selection alone cannot account for the evolution. Also Darwinian theory does not take into account symbiosis creating new species or adaptation through epigenetics which lends Lamarckian evolution more credibility. Besides that it seems organisms evolved sense organs to sense that which they could not previously sense. How is that possible? That is like a primitive human in the year 650 BC setting out to deliberately invent a radio before they understand what radio waves are.
