  1. It is an enticing thought, kicking Erdogan-led Turkey out of NATO and Orban-led Hungary out of both NATO and the EU. Having autcratic-leaning "leaders" doing damage from the inside is really dangerous, and cannot be tolerated. Reality is different, though. Erdogan may be a religious nutcase (real or pretend) that is running his country into the ground - just as Orban is perverting every democratic institution in Hungary, thus rendering Hungary totally unfit to remain a member of the EU. Both dictators are ensuring their own long-term demise. While democracy is fragile and slow-working, one cannot imagine the Hungarian and Turkish people tolerating this for long.
