One would think that the reason to investigate high officials for suspected crimes should be all the more urgent than any other individuals, be it a former president or the spouse of a SCOTUS justice. High officials and their relatives or spouses must be held to a far higher standard that anyone else! The institution and agents of the SS (Secret Service) are a prime example of highly suspicious conduct that MUST be investigated properly.

Can you IMAGINE the price-gouging that will ensue when the private profiteering companies finally get in on the COVID-19 testing racket?

Methinks he is being overly optimistic, given how the Trump administration was caught completely flat-footed at the beginning and has been in denial until very recently - but then he IS a government guy, even if he seems to be the only one willing to stick to the few known facts. Without widespread screening there is no way to reliably estimate how widely the virus has spread already. Chances are that the US has been caught even more flat-footed than Italy. Only time will tell. Let's hope, for your sake, that Dr. Fauci is NOT overly optimistic...

In my opinion, Blinken is a prolific bla-bla-bla word salad generator. He is about as useless as Obama, unfortunately, turned out to be (not only Obama's fault). I get progressively more disgusted every time he opens his mouth and issues even more empty bla-bla-bla word salad.

Kaja Kallas is a diplomat and will be courteous in the face of the blatant behaviour of the current US government's bullying. There will, however, be a point where the disgrace of the US cannot be ignored anymore. Europe is facing a potential invasion by Russia, and the response will NOT be diplomatic! WW3 has been brewing for over a decade, and the 'Muricans are proving to be useless partners, once again.

Gowdy appears to be just another Trumpzi airhead. Every human being has some opinion about various issues (including politics), and many even have strong opinions. According to Gowdy, being "biased" against Trump is a sin that should exclude anyone from working for e.g. the FBI. He could not be more wrong. Institutions like the FBI have oversight and protocols to reduce the risk of personal biases affecting investigative work, and agents KNOW that when they take on the job. Of course the risk can never be eliminated entirely, but the FBI seems to be trying to keep it to a minimum.

Considering today's FBI a bunch of incorruptible choir boys would be a mistake. After all, only a bit more than one generation ago, Edgar Hoover had created an FBI in his own image! The FBI seems seems to have been working very hard to put that debacle behind it, and no doubt the vast majority of FBI officials and agents today are straight shooters, following the letter of the law to the extent possible. The FBI, however, is staffed by humans just like any other institution, and the only way to minimize corruption is to be constantly on guard.
