  1. Considering today's FBI a bunch of incorruptible choir boys would be a mistake. After all, only a bit more than one generation ago, Edgar Hoover had created an FBI in his own image! The FBI seems seems to have been working very hard to put that debacle behind it, and no doubt the vast majority of FBI officials and agents today are straight shooters, following the letter of the law to the extent possible. The FBI, however, is staffed by humans just like any other institution, and the only way to minimize corruption is to be constantly on guard.
