I wondered about the "suicide mission" part of the title until almost halfway into the clip, when I realized they were unarmed and might have to ram their fighters into an airliner full of passengers! What a horrible position to be in, to possibly have to directly down an already doomed passenger airliner in the hope of saving even more people on the ground. While fighter pilots can eject, there is no guarantee the ejection system would be functional after ramming an airliner. Having to face this possibility must have been a life-altering experience, no matter how she glosses over that part.

@joshuahudson2170 , you underestimate the strength of the wings of a modern airliner, not to mention all the fuel stored in them. The tail surfaces are a much "softer" target, and is likely to result in total loss of control. Boy, what a morbid discussion this is turning out to be!

@Evolixe , I envisioned them ramming a "soft" part of the airliner (the empennage, either the fin or a stabilizer) with either a wing or the aft fuselage of the fighter, and THEN trying to eject, fingers crossed. At least they would have a chance of survival, which is more than can be said of the passengers of the doomed airliner. Taking part in expediting the death of over a hundred innocent people, even if they were arguably doomed anyway, would be hard to live with for anyone.
