  1. "We're out of the pandemic phase" does NOT mean "We're out of the pandemic" or "The pandemic is over"! I take the word "phase" to mean that the US is only one step further along this chain of events, and OF COURSE no one asked Dr. Fauci what that actually meant and what the next phase would be. There is no need to blow a gasket over semantics, and of course everyone should take appropriate preventive measures for quite a while to come.
