The virus; definitely not, at least in the US of A - Trump & Co. have decimated any institutions that might have been useful against a pandemic. Bernie; probably not! Young and until-now disillusioned voters are likely to come out in droves to support good-ole-Bernie, the US population's only hope for a sensible future.

  6. What do you call this? Censorship? Are cops not allowed their own opinions if said opinions are not Gestapo or SS fascist style? The US police forces have to be completely recycled - every single US cop should be eventually fired over a period of 1-2 years while a PROPER police force is established, and only cops that undergo REAL re-training and pass a psychological test will be hired in to the new police force. Nothing less will do if the US wants to be counted among civilized western nations in the future.

Their problem will be that the original speech will be leaked and the DNC will suffer a lot for their blatant attempt of manipulation. Better yet, why don't Justice Democrats just publish the full speech AOC could LIKE to give at the convention? THAT would really rock the boat! Then again, AOC is not likely to do anything that will NOT help kicking Trump out of office. Stage one, the most important bit. Her 60 seconds are bound to be focused on that. Stage two will be to hold Biden to his promises once he is in office which he (being a Corporate Democrat) will try to weasel his way out of. THAT is when AOC and her followers will come out, guns blazing (a poor metaphor, frankly). Hopefully they will not only rock but capsize the Corporate Democrat's boat!

  8. Having clamored for Trump's impeachment for a long time, now you see all kinds of problems with impeachment? Make up your mind! The arguments sound sensible, and maybe it is best to have the impeachment inquiry expose how awfully corrupt Trump is - but leave it up the the now-conservative Senate dirty their hands by denying actual impeachment. Pence would not become president (to obviously pardon Trump to the extent possible) and Republican Senators will have shown their true, grafting colors.

  9. A Covid infection will muck up your blood circulation. I caught Covid in Oct. 2020 and immediately noticed a pronounced circulation problems - hands and feet were chronically COLD, and severe remedies were called for. Fortunately, the problem is slowly correcting itself, over 2 years on. One thing I did NOT experience was notable erection problems (apart from being over 70 years old and definitely slowing down in that department). I count myself as fortunate, any drawbacks were easily handled by Viagra-style medication. To be in his thirties and experiencing severe penile problems must be horrifying, especially for an 'Murican. Then again, he can always go for a penis extension - go and by a BIG gun or a BIG truck or a BIG whatever...

  10. What is striking is the fact that there is no accountability UNLESS there is a video that proves the cops LIED about what happened. What we can take away from this is that cops will ALWAYS lie about events where they are conceivably in the wrong! When hard evidence is available they are always exposed as liars - and they expect the citizens to trust them. What a farce.

  11. I agree with everything said here, but I cannot help wondering if there is such a thing as being to rabidly pro-Bernie. Being pro-Bernie myself ( a rather pointless exercise, seeing that I am not a US American and have no say in this), I find the Rational National so rabidly pro-Bernie to actually resemble the pro-Trump crowd - literally a fanatic. I live in a North-European, social-democratic CAPITALISTIC country, and find that Bernie is simply preaching to the US voters what we in norther Europe have had since WW2: Affordable health care and education, wages that you can actually live on, and sensible social safety nets. The US population seems to have been brainwashed into thinking that anything that has the word "social" in it equals the now-extinct USSR-style "communist" philosophy. Europe is, is anything, more capitalistic than the US, at least we still believe in competition, and we still have anti-trust laws that curb the virtual monopolization found in the US today. That is something that Republicans and Corporate Democrats have been quietly abolishing in the US in recent decades.

  13. Well, he MIGHT have been a danger to himself so the they simply killed him. Problem solved. He is now stone-cold-dead and thus no longer a danger to himself. What a twisted kind of logic, the kind of logic one would expect to find in the effing US of A, not Canada! These particular policemen should be arrested and charged with the murder of a harmless person, because this killing was simply a murder. I wonder if they had a warrant to enter the premises. If not, this was an outright breaking and entering and murdering a person within the sanctity of his own home. When things like this start happening in a country like Canada, the US American madness has become just as contagious and dangerous as the Coronavirus!

  15. Funny how this "legalizing pot" issue has become so important. 1) Smoking too much pot fries your brain but is less lethal than e.g. tobacco. Pot is NOT good for you, but using it rarely harms other people. 2) There are A LOT of people in the US sitting in jail for an offense that is not very harmful to society compared to many other activities. 3) "Taking care" of those non-violent "offenders" is big business in the US now, and I mean BIG business. 4) As a result, there will be no significant change int the US injustice system in the foreseeable future, BUT: 5) A new generation is coming into it's own and you old, corrupt farts should start shaking in your slippers... Biden's corporate stint in the presidency will only be a temporary delay in the inexorable change that Mother Nature and plain physics are going to impose on mankind in our immediate future.

  17. The word "Repugnican" properly describes Sen. Kennedy, he is truly repugnant in everything he says and does. Observing the bullcrap spewing from him with a thick southern drawl is one of the reasons I feel nauseous whenever I hear someone speak with a southern drawl - in my mind a southern drawl is now the accent of lies, dishonesty and narrow-mindedness.

The US might manage to survive the current Trump crisis, but US politics have become so corrupt that the US, as a nation, is not going to survive the NEXT crisis or the on following that.   19. For the last two centuries, the strength of the USA has been the US population. Hard-working, innovative and the no-task-is-too-difficult attitude. When the US finally got their arses in gear during WW2, and ESPECIALLY during the immediate post-war decades, the American Dream was really alive and kicking. Now over 90% of the US population has slowly been tricked into virtual slavery, and the country is being run like a Reality Show. The question remains: Will the US population wake up and take control of the situation, or will the US population let itself be dumbly dragged to the slaughterhouse? The US has it's dirty corporate/military fingers in every resource pie around the world. The best the rest of the world can hope for is that the US starts using it's insane military budget to the benefit of the US population itself (health care, education, industry and infrastructure) instead of waging eternal war on nations that have only committed the sin of denying US corporations taking over their resources.
