  1. Aircraft manufacturers and US regulators cannot be entirely trusted. Fatal examples: DC10 and B747 cargo door design flaws, issues that became known to the manufacturers but not properly handled and communicated to airlines by the FAA. The reason: Financial pressure.

  2. What did you expect? This just proves that when something is commercialized, reliability makes a dive for the exit. To believe the results are exact is like believing in Santa Claus... What might be surprising about this is how the basic results are, after all, quite similar.
