  1. Well I might disagree a little. The chance of democracy depends mostly on the character of the upper class of a country. If the upper class does not like a system, they can slowly start changing it. By passive actions at least. But that upper class has to have enough intelligence and humility to share a little. I do think this character is unevenly distributed by country. However can be influenced and be improved by environment and education. Or force, in the case of South Korea, by the US.

  3. This is kind of my theory. A society has to have that Scandinavians concept of huegge (sp?), which means sort of like, simple living, to embrace democracy. Where the idea of modesty among the rich is encouraged. If you don't have that, you can't have democracy. Because the rich will always try to self aggrandize at the expense of others. And that means they have to keep the poor down. That leads to repression.

  4. It's also a little like FOX News viewers in the US. Their brain is warped because of FOX. But all they have to do, is change the channel up or down one, to get to CNN or MSNBC to get new perspective. There is nothing easier to do than that. But they refuse to do it. Maybe then they would realize Trump did not win last election. But they dont want to hear it. What is that?
