By the way, speaking of brainwashing, my dad was a child in Nazi Germany. And he always had a little bit of admiration for Hitler left. Even though he would not admit it. One time, I told him Hitler was kind of dumb, because he tried to take on the whole world in an unwinnable war. And I said if hitler was smart, he never would have tried that. My dad got very upset by hearing that. He was upset at hearing hitler called dumb. But then eventually, he calmed down and admitted I was right. But he still had that internal brainwashing left, from when he was a child.

@D G No. I just read about it. My dad was in Hitler Youth. He said he never really heard too much about the Jews. That is was not as bad as it looked in movies.

@Schwainer mit ai No they were walking in an open field and they smelled the smell coming from the building and camp, that was nearby.

@Schwainer mit ai Well I got news for you, my father was a young soldier in Poland at the end of the war and he walked near the concentration camps himself. They were walking in some fields and they smelled some burning smell, kind of smelled like burning hair. And my dad asked what that was, and all the other soldiers laughed at him, and said don't you know what that is? everybody knows what that is. So yeah they were real. He also saw Jews on train platforms in uniforms being taken away with the carriages marked Jews. So my point is, yes it did happen to the Jews, but that was mostly kept hidden from the normal population and especially children.

@Schwainer mit ai Also the concentration camps happened more towards the end of the war. So in the beginning when Hitler came to power, and many years later, people did not know about it. Only at the end, did word start getting around more.

@ulf5738 No they were told they went to Palestine because they did not like Hitler. That's what they told my father when his Jewish classmates disappeared one by one in grade school. He believed it.

Here is another thing about brainwashing. My dad grew up in Nazi Germany, he was a child when Hitler came to power and a teen when Hitler left. One thing I noticed about my dad in his life, was he really loved to study history, but he really didn't know too much about world war II and Hitler. He never really read up on that. And when I asked him why, he said, I don't have to read about it, I lived there, I know what happened. I said, no you were a child reading Nazi propaganda, I said you really don't know what happened. I said, you should go back now and read it again to get more facts. But he wouldn't do it, he thought he knew everything. But the only thing he knew about it was Nazi newspaper propaganda, even later in life.

@wokeaf1337 Nah Hitler was an idiot. He started wars with a zillion countries, thinking he could win. Only an idiot would believe that. His speeches were idiotic and clownish as well. They were oversold. The guy was a low class fool.

@kerrynball2734 Maybe Hitler did a few practical things, but in the end, he was not smart. Even dumb people can do a few smart things. But if you make one really bad choice, that is obvious to all, you are still dumb. In the end, Hitler did not accomplish anything, and in fact got his country bombed out and split up, and occupied, and put down for years.. He left the place worse than when he started. When he didn't have to, If he didn't start the war and make these ridiculous concentration camps, he would have been a great leader. So he was an idiot. He made idiotic choices.

@Schwainer mit ai Not impossible. Very possible. Although I agree that a lot died from disease and malnutrition. For example if you don't eat vitamin c you will probably be dead in a month.

Well I don't know that much about the second world war, but as an American, i tend to think the Americans won it, because the Russians were in it for years, and did not win. And the war was won, only after the Americans entered it. If the Russians won world war II, they wouldn't have needed the Americans to help them out.

Any person 'can' break out of brainwashing, but most people don't want to, because they want to believe the same thing their family does. Tribalism is often more important to people than the truth. So that is how dictatorships continue.
