When sense returns we will at least rejoin the customs union because it’s the solution to all our immediate problems, only the tories are stopping it. I listen on multiple devices, the audio quality is good until he gets too loud, then a combination of his own setup and YouTube audio compression algorithms makes it less than predictable to listen to, and less than enjoyable, that’s before I get into the psychological effect of being shouted at twice a day by an intelligent yet angry northerner. It makes me angry. It’s the natural effect. Anger is useful, but it’s not a good tool for education. I’m a music producer and mixer so audio is important to me. Clear, controlled speech into good quality equipment is what the tv industry has done for nearly a century now, the popularity of YouTube influencers often betrays the quality of their self-production. Many of these people don’t understand microphone proximity or directionality, reverberation, plosives, sibilants, digital clipping and distortion, digital limiting, RMS conventions for broadcast… or the rest of what makes BBC studio sound the best in the world, and is important for consistent, legible, easily palatable information. So, I’ll praise when it’s good, and I’ll continue to shout back when I’m being shouted at. It’s my autism spectrum nature. 😂🤷‍♂️ The guy is a massive asset to the good of the UK, I just wish the production value was on the same level, because I believe it’s important based upon decades of workkmg in the industry. 🙌

Stand-alone battery powered units, recording straight to SD card. They’re the easiest for you to be portable with and not too technical, I think. There’s bigger ones with more mic inputs if you need more but they start getting a bit unwieldy.

SOFT FURNISHINGS on the walls and the spot above your seating position would really help fist reflections and at speech volume should sort most of the issues out, then maybe worth investing in a Large Diameter Condenser microphone like the popular Aston Origin (British mic too) with a pop shield. Rock wool panels (loads of videos how on here) around you would be far better than foam too, I promise. A small Audient external sound card would provide studio quality mic preamp and routing into your recording software. I’ve set up a few commercial studios and I’m less sweary now my adhd is better medicated 🤣 Looking forward to seeing the new layout. All the best.

  545. Oh and the main audio issue right now is that when you emphasise a word or two, either the mic overloads at the diaphragm, or at the preamp. Hard to tell from this end. If it’s the preamp, which is more likely, an audio limiter would help raise your overall level while soft clipping the loud peaks. But then we are starting to get a little more technical. 💪🏻

This one better than the last.... but I’m talking small increments. Do you not listen to these before you put them out? If you are uploading shit quality that won’t help either. Always record AND UPLOAD at the highest quality you can, then let YouTube do their own compression. If you compress file size first the audio gets fucked up TWICE. If it’s shit to start with, digital distortion will make it sound like a fucking broken kids toy.
